Just make it an option, with other standard loot division methods (round robin, party leader decision, etc). What's the big fucking issue? The loot still gets into the economy.
Alternatively, just increase the timer on the items. It's not as if everyone doesn't already stop and stand around the rare or unique that dropped, so the pace of the game is interrupted anyway. And besides, the entire FFA system is usually metagamed, what with gentleman's rules and such, which bypasses the intended effect that GGG was going for. All this FFA nonsense does is create a whole lot of strife and some pissed-off gamers some of whom may or may not decide to give GGG any money. I have an actual suggestion for your review.
How bout Instanced loot for bosses, unique enemies and rare enemies. All other drops are kept the same as it is now. This makes the most lucrative kills instanced and no worry or altering play style just to position for loot better. Honestly a lot of the time I just flat out stop shooting the boss in order to position myself for the piñata. Also since normal mobs are the standard system, it retains the competitive thrill of scrambling for your loot or others when farming normal mobs. If the party loot mechanics wouldn't stay the same, in a 6 man party 250% more loot would drop in instances. That insanity. An option to change it to instanced does not give you the right to more loot. You will see A LOT less than solo. That's a fact. |

" failed there... yes the IL will be less loot from the current pinata FFA but AT LEAST must be the same with solo (higly doubt it tho)..it will be slightly better than solo with a cap in IIQ/IIR.. " That makes no sense! Reducing the amount of loot when it's instanced would give an unfair advantage to groups of friends or guilds and whatnot. Because they can have their cake(more loot) and eat it too(looting rules). And it would again discourage grouping, which is basically the situation we have now. " I just personally don't see it as more loot if its the same as when I solo. What is the logic behind FFA having less loot anyhow? Is it because you clear faster? Maybe the enemies should be more difficult. Is it because the screen would be too covered with items? Thats not a problem with instanced. Screw FFA. Besides the idea that its not fair to FFA players I don't see why instanced loot SHOULD have less than solo. The draw back to coop should always be tougher monsters not less loot. Standard Forever
