why do people gamba?

the expected value is negative, because vivid crystallized lifeforce cost money. if u keep doing it ur guaranteed to lose money by strong law of large numbers, u can't get "lucky" by keeping on gamba, the longer u gamba the less luck plays a role. why do people still do it?

Gambling is poe endgame and you never lose anything other than pixels so what's the issue?
You can win big too. Why else would someone have 150+ mirror cards. You think it's because of their atlas strategy?
I know if my character is already geared, everything else is just a bonus.

I mean if your just talking about divination card harvest gamble it's pretty easy to gamble the juice only costs a few div and double your wealth when your about to quit the league anyway and mby give you a reason to keep playing. I would guess that most people don't gamble unless there is an item they want they cant get without some extra luck. My personal experience with it is mixed but it's always a bit of fun and most of the time I'm only losing stuff that was going to go to standard anyways.

I would say the people that have bad experience with harvest gamble probably just don't go big enough. So they never have that huge hit thus they think it's worthless. Once you have gambled a mageblood level of item into existence you definitely get hooked.

Same reason people do it in real life.

No reason to keep those 100s of divines in inventory at the end of the league if they're going in the standard black hole never to be disturbed again.

as a gambling addict, i play poe just to gamble so i dont spent irl money, it can be anything from stacked decks and valdos boxes, to house of mirror gambling on the whorification station with yellow juice, identifying watcher's eyes or sublime visions, i made over 1 mirror with 1 sublime vision this league and many mirrors with house of mirror doubling, its all for that dopamine hit you get from gambling.

yes, but it simply is not profitable to gamble div cards. You got lucky that's all.
To id unis might be another story but div card gambling has negative value and will therefore always end in the player losing, unless they do it only a couple of times, get insanely lucky(it's called variance)and stop there.
It is the same with the doubling strategy in roulette. After more than one century people cannot accept that it simply does not work, because obv you can just win once and then quit. There is a reason the green zero exists and when it comes to div card gambling, yellow juice is the green zero. You cannot win in the long run, the house always wins.
