This isn't going to happen for the main part of the game. Trade is a core aspect and I doubt GGG will budge an inch on that regard.
You'd probably have better luck pushing for this change in SSF which has all methods of trade disabled. It makes the most sense to have these changes here as the game will be balanced for those who only wish to play the game and not have to worry about maximizing profit nor if something will ruin the economy.
well atleast i tried. ggg wants* trading to be core game play focus it doesent working out (again) most people just move in to another games since being undercuted and having to constantly fight artificial scarcity is aint fun at all.
dont forget that we are still in ea and game can be drastically changed, well even after release, its better to pitch idea so ggg know what to do when their own game starts crashing down miserably so they actually start acting on it instead of doing some stupid crap that nobody cares about.

yeeee i remeber that wierd thing about corpse run to get your gear back in diablo 1, horrible feature. i used to mod it out.
economy make sense if it managed by people without ggg involvement, since this involvement takes time from developing cycle and makes game balancing miserable to simple people that dont have much time (like some dudes mentioned above) ....
poe 2 need to stray away from trading focus otherwise how its different from poe 1 then??? if ggg continue poe 2 will just crumble on itself eventually unless they shift focus of the game to build sandbox where you can come up with insane stuff
It really wasn't that bad and like I said. Kinda rare. All you needed was to grab a basic white weapon / shield. Mages didn't need anything. You'd play safe to get your stuff and that was it.
It was a punishment. Not an economical choice however without loss there's no real economy.
The point I was kinda pushing is how different itemization has become in pretty much any game with RPG mechanics. Items used to make up maybe 50% of your overall power. Less in Diablo 1 if you're talking "Perfect Gearing" which is actually more character progression. A Warrior who spent time to get level 20 Teleport and Stone Curse was an an entirely different level than a basic "I killed Diablo Warrior". Likely not intended but that was the end-game we made for ourselves.
Even using just PoE 1 as comparison levels meant a lot back in the day because passives were stronger. You were fine with one roll off gear. Now it's 8 rolls deep and all this artificially stretched content like Umbers, chase items and just dumb map modifiers to shut down builds and force currency spending. It went from like 50/50 to 80/20 gearing power.
A large part of that is simply herding but also giving access to player stats and builds.
In short it's the excessive weight on gear instead of character or alternate progression.
yee passive nodes feel week in poe 2 since most of things arent there like hp, leech, barelly any movement speed, not much on resists.
now its all on gear (like some items that pass by in chat are insane lol) that we (simple players) dont get to mod because of lack of bases and craft materials.
also about diablo 1 corpse system: mods show its main flaw like if you go in to high lvl sub areas you just gonna loose your stuff since each time it will be oneshot kek

Some people perceive the carrot on the stick to be too far away to grasp and become discouraged, and say why bother.
Some people then might get mad at whoever put the carrot way out there, or angry at the fact that the carrot is perpetually out of reach.
Some people have no idea what a carrot is and just play the game because they like slamming maces onto monsters. These are usually the same people who at one point open up their stash and realize, "wow, look at all these carrots".
issue isnt in rabbits themselves, game requires you to get big carrot to win and provides with barelly no means to grow one unless you gonna trade for one...

Lol I don't know if that's exactly fair. You're not supposed to get one-shot. I modded the game. I had my own mods which just friend and I played then I was also part of a crew who made The Dark.
I tried other mods but they tried to make Diablo 1 more like Diablo 2 which I personally didn't think was an improvement. We more just made it harder while fixing bugs and skills like Blood Star or Flash. Main reason Flash was never good is it only populated one side of the character.
Generally the only way you die is getting stun/block locked and that was on the player for over stepping. Though I will say the Bard and Barbarian were inherently flawed. If I recall we gave the Barb faster Casting and the Barbarian stagger recovery while using Rage. I never felt that was enough compared to strictly range or 1h + Shield. Two handed / Dual Wielding in Diablo 1 was a trap.
But yea, bringing that up was just to kinda show how heavily RPGs now covet gear over your character builds. Even in Diablo 1 you were not worthless if you had no gear. A huge part of that was thanks to the global magic system which is actually what originally got my interest in PoE1.
I love class-less systems. So much a more recent mod I made for DOS2 makes it fully class-less. Developers are scared of those types of system though because they're notoriously hard to balance. Still in a PvE game "Close enough" is fine. PoE2 doesn't get anywhere close somehow.

What, you don't like those reels where people spend more currency bricking an item than your entire account has amassed in value from drops over the span of hundreds of hours?
