Oh an in-game price check UI is coming, soon enough it will be exactly like an auction house, where you slap an item in and the game tells you its price.

Do you have access to any confidential sources that substantiate your claim? Last I checked, you’re not employed at GGG, so if you have any insider knowledge or information about where these leaks are coming from, please share.

Nah, they just mentioned price-checking in-game a few times during different livestreams. You don't need more proof than that.

So, Toffy, what you are telling us is that you have no confidential sources to substantiate your claim. In that case, it would be more accurate to say that you simply hope for an in-game price check feature, rather than presenting it as if it were guaranteed to happen.

Yeah, maybe for the top 0.0001% speedrunners. It still takes like 8-9 hours even with full gear while following a maxroll leveling guide lmfao

No Toffy, that’s a fairly standard clear time if you have your leveling gear ready and just focus on progressing. If it takes you eight to nine hours with alternate gear, and you still end up surpassing what the average player needs to complete the campaign without leveling gear, it only underscores that you are below average.
If you’re still depending on guides to navigate the campaign, there’s not much more to say, you are exactly the audience the campaign was designed for, and its purpose is to ease new players into the game.

Heya,
Another epeen post, the VAST majority of players starting a season or event will take longer than 8-9 hours to do. YOU do not follow guides, YOU take a couple hours, we get it, you're ALL THAT and a bag of chips. OG player here, from the original beta, to now, the thing is I help folks, I don't make fun of them, demean them while trying to elevate myself...that's YOU...YOU can do better than this.

At this point, after all these years, I'm just bored with the campaign, so +1 to the idea of skipping it. You can do whatever you want, give us options, options are good.

I think you might have missed the context of the exchange you're quoting. Toffy is saying 8-9 hours on a second+ character within a league, with a full set of levelling gear.

Taking 8-10 hours is a little slow but still fine if it's your league starter, especially if you're taking time to figure out the new league's mechanics. Someone wants to call that "average," I won't argue.

That's not at all what they're talking about.

Taking more than 4 with 7LS, Tabula, etc in softcore trade definitely puts a player multiple standard deviations below average. And the game can't and shouldn't be balanced around those players.

OG player here, from the original beta, to now, the thing is I help folks,

As a veteran player myself, having been part of this community for many years, I know that help is a gift that requires acceptance, in the face of refusal, even the best advice goes nowhere.

But yes, if someone requires eight to ten hours to complete the campaign with leveling gear, it is not mockery to observe that this is a very slow pace and well below the performance of the typical average player. It is not intended as ridicule, it is simply a factual fact about the performance.
There is no shame in being below average, but we should not pretend to represent or speak for the average players or the majority when, in reality, we do not.

You can't burn a cookie to charcoal, sprinkle some sprinkles on top, and call it a success. The same applies to taking eight to ten hours with leveling gear to finish the campaign. It may be the best you can do, but it is simply not good, nor is it close to what an average player would achieve with leveling gear, just as the average baker produces a cookie that is at least still edible, if not delicious, while overbaking it to ruin cannot be considered proper.

Let's look at this from another angle: the hardcore angle. Path of Exile's vision has always been centered around hardcore gameplay—they even implemented Ruthless mode. I'm not sure how popular it is now, but here's a wild idea: let's add a campaign skip, at least only into Ruthless, or better yet, only into Hardcore Ruthless.

The idea here isn't just to let softcore players skip their chore each league, but to allow the actual veterans, streamers, and dedicated members of this community to die in solo hardcore and play again and again without rerunning the campaign—at least for one league.

This could really boost the popularity of hardcore play, because it's okay if I die—I won't have to go through the beach again and again.
