Finished campaign in Phrecia 2.0, my only question is who asked?

Meh, I enjoyed the event and still do.
Gauntlets are HC events, I don't play HC and will never play it cos fuck HC and losing your entire progression to a oneshot happening faster than you can blink.

This event enabled me to play gauntlet in SC trade.

Made campaign interesting and not autopilot snoozefest like it ususally is.
I already quit the first day, i can get through it, no problem, but i don't want to play the Gauntlet. If that will repeat, i'm going to skip all events in the future. Legitimately 0.1% of players like this. Please keep this shit for a private server where people who like to be masochistic can play it. AND NO I DON'T WANT PRICES, I DON'T WANT TO PLAY GAUNTLET TYPE OF NONSENSE!
I also don't care what argument you bring, i'm not you, i will never enjoy such BS.
So keep your noob reliant topics for yourself. I'm not a bad player, i want to enjoy my time playing a video game, nothing else. You are free to disagree, but don't come at me with your nonsense argument of how i should get good. I'm good, and i don't need an extra challenge to prove something. If I wanted that, i would have already converted to ruthless. I value my time, and this is a waste of my time.

I also asked for this. I'm having fun. :)

Nowhere in the post did it say gauntlet stuff was gonna be in this event. It was just vague "bosses have gained new abilities". It isn't even new its just pasted over from previous gauntlet event lol

In addition to this, we’ve also sprinkled a few extra twists into the mix. To start with, every area will have a random number of map modifiers, with this number scaling up with area level. We’ve removed many modifiers from the pool that would brick builds, such as reflect.

From here

99% of the playerbase who ignore Hardcore Gauntlets: Oh, obviously they're talking about the Hardcore Gauntlet modifiers that we don't know about! Gosh, we're so stupid, if only we read the part where they spelled out exactly what we were getting with no room for misinterpetation.

Yep exactly this. Most people just wanted to enjoy some normal Phrecia, this is not Phrecia. This is forced gauntlet in campaign and then you get to play nerfed Phrecia with insane recomb dust costs for idols.

Would have been nice of GGG to tell us in the "Everything you need to know about Phrecia" announcement post. Conveniently the gauntlet part was vague and not clear at all, so now a lot of players feel totally scammed by this event.

They could have done it in so many different ways, this gauntlet nonsense could have been optional, it could have been active only in HC.(that's literally what it was designed for anyway) The enrage on all pinnacle bosses is also stupid, it should not be active there at all.

In the future they should keep this gauntlet stuff only for separate events, never mix it in with others. It just ruins the game for 99% of players. Because if they want to ruin all their events with "difficulty" like this, I'm not playing in them after like lvl50 for a free box lmfao
Bearing in mind I never played Phrecia 1.0:

Got to level 72 - played a few maps - really not got the stomach for this garbage. I don't like having difficulty thrust upon me without any input on the levers of what that difficult something is. Adding random map mods when you open a map is just not my idea of fun.

It's quite easy - reward me for suffering through the difficulty and if I choose to opt out of the difficulty my rate of income per map/hour suffers. I still play your game, you still have that daily login but I'm at least happy and probably working towards feeling comfortable taking on more difficulty.

I also really don't see why idols are hyped so much - I don't like the mechanic so far. The Atlas feels better, as it feels like you are making progress as you move through the maps. I could see them as a potential side mechanic or scarab replacement option though. I like the idea of them - I just don't like the league. I was already pretty burnt out by Keepers' hive fortress mechanics. Please stop making league mechanics that you cannot turn off if you don't like them.. being able to turn off breach fortress/hive would make this league 1000x more playable.

I quit necropolis because I couldn't turn off the stupid mechanic at the start of every map.

Also is it just me or does GGG not know how to design UI elements? Why is the idol inventory on the same side as the very handy map storage box? Would make much more sense for that to be on the right hand side of the map device UI.
I'm going to be fair and I'll start by saying I don't like these events and only join for the free MTX (I am cheap like that, what can I say) so, naturally, I'm not the target audience and I'm OK with that. I got to lvl90 in a couple of days, got my MTX and I bounced.

But I can't help but wonder if other controller players, now that this game is also in consoles, have the same problem with mini-bullet hell mechanics and ground effects all over small arenas while playing on a controller. We can't choose were to land with our movement skills so how are we supposed to dodge stuff that surrounds us without face tanking one way or another? Or is it just me having this problem?

And finally, just an idea that I think could be cool for the future:
A delve-like race. No maps, no campaigns. Just play one area after the other.
- Start from lvl1 in an area (doesn't have to be delve, something outdoors would be welcomed too) and you move from one node to another leveling up. No going back to your hideout or anything.
- No crafting or currency enabled. You just get loot and gold. You have to get by with what you find on the ground + your passive skill tree.
- Every few nodes there will be a boss encounter. Bosses allow you to "imprint" a unique mod, related to that boss (like warlord mods, etc), on an item. Like the lab shrine or whatever it's called (where you transform the gems and such). You put an item in the shrine and gives you a mod related to that item and the boss in question.
- There will be some nodes that will have a merchant that will offer you some minor form of crafting (upgrade a mod one tier, reroll a mod, randomize quality or other value, etc) and will also sell bases.
- At the end of the race/event, you will be able to turn one of your items into a unique (or unmodifiable item) with whatever mods/stats you accumulated on it for standard or for the current league or something like that.

That'd be something I'd play for fun regardless of free MTX hehe.
Cheers.

They actually did do an endless delve race a couple years back.

It was fantastic, I loved it.

Map mods in every area was your sign that this one was not like the other.
Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

Stop trying to make people play the game like you do. If they don't enjoy it how about just leave it at that?
