just did a full round spymaster snake, no lock drop (2 restricted rooms med + 1 restriction room reroll) I did path back because maybe I overlooked a lock med (nothing). I can undestand a nerf in loot, but not in making a proper temple.
get rid of the med drops nobody is using (restricted rooms x2, vault, waystone) It is really fun to try to build a snake and progress I even saw a few citadels on the map. now the fun and progress is slowly disapearing. edit: seems like lock nerf last patch and currency nerf this patch Last edited by ToetieWappie#0764 on Jan 28, 2026, 12:32:12 PM

We need developers to stop shadow nerfing mechanics without any mention in the patch notes.

I just had a run with 6 locks, the runs before were about average with two or three locks.
While I had a sense of getting a lot less locks yesterday, being at zero for several times and barely keeping the temple from partial disintegration, it could have been a statistical fluke. Either way, pure chance or an error correction with the 1.6 mb patch w/o patch notes today, there appears to be no problem (any longer?). |

" there was something today? I play on console so I don't always see patches or whatever because of automatic updates. Maybe I should turn that off so I can be more in the know. |

So after some more "testing" in terms of commander rooms affecting drop chance of lock medaillions i can safely say: "It does not matter and was a coincedence."
Did 11 runs yesterday had almost 0-1 locks dropped for a very long time also normal medaillions would not drop. Today i got rid of Commander Rooms and did like 8 more runs thinking drop rates have stabilized again due to that change. Well... i was wrong. Right after Sac Chamber appeared and i skipped it things went tits up again! Now 6 runs later with "1" !!! lock medaillion sitting at 8 Spymasters T3 and just burned through my last lock medaillion. So whatever affecting the unconsistency in drop rates it either intentional by GGG or it is a bug from us not beeing able to get any due to mobs switching rooms during room clear phases. A reoccuring statisitc fluke as some stated it may occur maybe once every 200 temple runs but every 30 temple runs thats straight out a brick for the entire setup if you plan on juicing it and end up with sustaining at least 2 snakes all the time. |

Locks have been nerfed since hotfix 24 of last patch. No word or care about it. There are hundreds of complaints about it at this point. They don't care. They seemingly have no intention of fixing it, and in general have barely communicated with players at all this entire patch. They'll fix anything else and completely ignore this bug/have shadow nerfed locks intentionally. Either way I doubt they'll fix it at this point. The whole player transparency thing has completely gone over the wayside in this league.

I really can‘t believe what I‘m reading here, 70+ rooms setup…no locks for multiple runs bla bla bla, I have a 74 room temple, easy setup, no tech…an ethical temple and I get 2-3 locks easily per run, I don‘t know what your problem is, maybe they nerfed the tech temples, because they are not supposed to be build like this.
