so you do bleed damage? probably a good idea
im phys/fire hybrid. have well over 100% gain as extra fire in order to benefit from the fully broken armour affect applying to both
so you're that tanky and your damage is good?
i went for a ton of quality of life upgrades, and defensive niches to make life easier as well. you can upload characters on poe.ninja, and though it isn't upgraded to my recent few changes this is mostly my setup

It's funny how there are plenty of ES nodes in the passiv tree to push your ES, but not a single life node to push your life. As long as they don't change that, armor/life will always be bad compared to ES, there is nothing to scale with life except for your gear.
well, i don't entirely agree
because life and ES are not the same thing, they're not totally equatable. ES is more a defense than a life source. meaning it is the base stat on a piece of equipment, just like armour and evasion, and thus has scaling similar to it as well.
it is used more like a life pool, but its quite difficult to scale defenses on ES builds outside of just stacking pure ES, because it is a defense in itself. so sure you can get 20k ES but you'll have poo poo mitigation most of the time.
life is mostly gotten on gear and hardly scaled, but at least you are either getting armour or evasion or energy shield as a defense on top, or a combination of whichever. so it is different in that way.
however energy shield does just have higher scaling on the passive tree than the other defense types as well, which is kind of weird.
where the big disconnect comes in is with sustain. its relatively easy to sustain energy shield, gaining a super low recharge delay and a high recharge rate. you can almost start its recharge just from a dodge roll
while life has terrible sustain unless you're a physical damage attack that can utilize leech. life regen is literally TERRIBLE and they nerfed it a massive amount in 0.3 for whatever reason.
so not only do you have a lower amount of it, but its harder to get back
I think the big issue with armor/life is that you have to use many different defense layers to make it work like having enough armor, ele dmg apply to armor, good life pool, enough block chance and so on and most of that stuff comes only from gear. Whereas with ES you just need to stack ES and some faster start and charge and you are ready to go, most of it can even gotten from passiv tree, so you have gear + passiv tree to boost it. Personally, it feels like being punished if you go with armor/life, I have to focus on defense on all of my gear just to get all the necessary defense layers so I don't get one shotted every time, which means I have to leave out a lot of dps. You don't need all these defense layers with ES like you do with armor which means that you can stack much more damage if you go with ES.

ya i think you're right
however i just don't see ES builds doing maps like this. maybe then can but i'd have to see a video of it. without the mitigation i just think they'd be blasted down no matter what.
at that point you're kind of a glass cannon. you stack enough ES where its reasonable you won't get one shot from majority of content, and make sure you have enough damage to one shot everything at a distance
it is sad that poe2 is already mostly at that state.

Probably combo of map mods, tablet mods, atlas tree mods and corruption mods. They all show at once while you start the map.

You can corrupt up to 8 mod t15s.
Crystals seem to be rng from them though. Im getting 2 several times which is bs

I don't know about pure ES builds, but ES/Evasion is very comfortable with any map mod configuration if specced into CI.
Ever since I got CI I stopped looking at map mods entirely and I run T15 6mod corrupted all day with and without tablets. Obviously there's 8mod aswell, but like I said I don't look at them anymore. I'm playing melee, so ranged is even better I suppose.
I haven't died from level 94 to 97 while doing so... the only time I died yesterday was from a DD rare in the temple, which shocked me tbh :D
