NPC needs Voice acting !

"
I agree, this game needs voiced NPCs ... but try no to fall into the same pit, where Diablo 3 fell. Voices of the NPCs in towns are fine, go nuts there. BUT, PLS, do not personalize the game characters. Let the players create their own character "profiles" (if you will) in their heads, or give the characters just a few lines , like in Diablo 2 LoD, when Barbarian entered Blood Moor, he only said "Beware, foul demons and beast!" ... that's OK, but full voice-over like in Diablo 3, where every line of your character gives you impression that he/she is one stuck up over-confident spoiled b**ch/a**hole is really not a way to go. You went through a big trouble (I presume) creating that amazing skill tree, where we as players can go whichever path we want, thus creating and personalizing our characters. Do not spoil this. :) ... I wish you all the best, it looks like there is a hope for ARPGs after all.

This'd again :)

Leverage the player's imagination to your benefit. It's cost effective!

It also fits the game.

I agree with all that, and even more, don't put anything like the evertalking bosses like Asmodan or Diablo, who just talk all the time to say nothing :)
What? That doesn't fit the game at all.

Each of the six characters has their own backstory and personality. It's the exact same reason why gender is fixed (though GGG is reneging on this) and why the templar is left-handed but the other five are not.

It's also why your choices are irreversible (at least for quest rewards and the bandit quest, and previously respec before GGG weakened their stance on that too).

Unlike an MMO where your character is your avatar and is meant to be persistent, this is a league-based game (to say nothing of hardcore) where your characters are ephemeral.

Anyway, I look forward to the NPC voice acting. I wonder if GGG can produce something as iconic as, "Stay a while and listen!" or "You have quite a treasure there in that Horadric Cube".
