So 0.4.0 Released yesterday. Already bored. Game play pacing is way off.

Ah yes, again people which play 6 hours per week have expectation to be on the same level as people which play 16 hours a day..

Quite realistic expectation, almost the same as someone who works 1 hour per day to get a 200 hours working month salary.

No, i dont play this league but i see a lot of tbh dumb expectations.

No dude, we just want to have fun. I have enough chores, gaming should not be another chore.

+1
Just in case anyone from GGG reads it, unlikely i know, but this is my experience.

The game start is far too slow paced, takes way too long and unless you get lucky with some drops it just feels ridiculously slow. You can check my account and see that this time around I have barely played a couple of hours, the reason why is that your competitors are doing a far better job of making levelling more fun.

I get it is an unfinished product but there are core design problems with the game. I prefer playing POE1 way more than POE2, and it is not down to nostalgia it is down to a much smoother experience. Very few people can now spend that much time into grinding to get to end game.

For me the grind should be at end game, for those that sink hundreds of hours to get the best gear that is their choice, where this fails is that you have so many people that just quit the game due to being bored, if your game is making people bored then that is a big problem.

Some will agree, some will disagree but I think the silent majority who you see quit playing the game have the same opinion.

Pacing seems fine to me. I don't think someone who has played 4 druids through the campaign already should be the benchmark in this regard. Also, this sounds like another one of those PoE1 zoomer problems. If you like to min-max act I that's fine, but don't project your "problems" on normal players.

I am currently in act IV with my druid and the only thing I loathe is the lack of support gem drops.

I just finished so called campaign now and started endgame content.
And I have to say this. It’s boring. Whole campaign feels slow, repetitive and story telling is just crap.
I understand that the GGG trying hard to make campaign more fun. Difficulty of that goal is this game genre is somewhere between extremely and impossible. It’s because of how the story (it could be the best story ever written) is telling. You can’t just put emotion, expression, or anything notable into text bubbles. That’s isn’t possible. Even if you have very good voice acting and music. It’s not radio acting and it’s not a book reading. I’ve just missed some good stuff with holds me in story. Cutscenes are easiest way to archive part of it, but it’s not that straightforward.
Without that story engaged feeling the campaign feels like WoW in tbc era. Just go there kill that, take that and activate it there… naaah again and again. Basically endgame with forced quests.

And now, as the gameplay becomes more and more restrictive in ways of build-crafting. Forcing players into combo playing. I feel like most of freedom in game just disappears.
Mandatory campaign, repetitive with low speed of movement and progression, areas becomes larger each act, goals are same.
Spot on. Feel the exact same way right now.
Completely diagree.

Playing Bear form through Act 1-4 was never a slog, and felt good. 0.1 was my first ARPG experience ever and i didnt have expectations, so it was super fun.

0.2 was a true slog, and way less fun than 0.1.

0.3 was my easiest campaign ever, and experience and knowledge helped with gear and build during it.

0.4 so far has felt great, and im convinced people struggling either get extremely unlucky with drops (which happens in ARPGs sometimes) or just dont know to identify good bases and slam craft properly.

There is absolutely nothing weak about Druid or shapeshifting, its very powerful through campaign.

Exactly same feelings, i just said that in other post where someone said game is too hard,

its like if you play any of 3 core builds you will zoom through campaigne,
if not you better get ready for some pain baby.

Made the mistake of switching my monk out of contagion + essence drain (yes, I'm not joking, yes I've played this game before) prior to the end of the campaign. It's honestly more efficient to delete this character and start over than to spend 3-4 hours trying to kill Tavakai as a melee character.

And for what, a Vaal puzzle.

No thanks. You tried, GGG, and you failed. This game a year in is still worse than PoE 1, and it gets worse still with every new patch.

welcome to live service slog factory where we optimize the slog to maximize player retention. you might think a happy player is best for slog factory but thats wronng, it's a numb one. we dangle that carrot but only ever give the smallest nibble. and while hope slowly fades the numbed player looks elsewhere to fill the growing void in their hearts: our MTX store where overpriced trumpery promises a temporary relief from the ever looming dread...gg GGG

dripping hot wax on sensitive areas of your body as a hobby

LMFAO
The same Diablo 4 tourists whine about this every time a new league is released, yet this game has 8x more views than Diablo 4 on Twitch
