Im not playing Poe2

MAYBE in next 2 years poe 2 will be like poe 1 even better just wait
The problem with PoE 2 is we still have to go through years of convincing Jonathan that he's wrong about most things. Eventually it'll feel like a modernized poe1, with better graphics, mechanics, and animations, which is really what most of us wanted.
But that already exists in poe1.
I watched a 20+ second video of a druid in bear form circling around a boss mob to dodge its attacks. I thought a bear form would imply some sort of tankiness so you don't have to play DARK SOULZ mode 24/7, but I was mistaken. Yawn. Keep your WASD out of my ARPG. I had enough of that tanking in WoW for years.

I did play it. Briefly. And only for the MTX. Convinced myself to push a little further into Act 2 to see if it got any better, and I can confidently say I remember why I never touched the game again after I played a character to almost level 90 on release.

Everything is so unbearingly clunky, in more ways than one. For some ungodly reason, the spells you get for free from weapons you equip somehow deal ~5-10x the damage of any spells you could get from gems at that level, and they cost no Mana, even with multiple supports.

I heard about Spell Totems being added, figured I'd at least check it out to not maintain an outdated biased opinion, only to then learn down the road that you need 3 Charges of X to summon one, and gaining Charges requires some convoluted conditional nonsense and access is overall super restricted. I shall maintain my opinion that PoE Deuce can stay far away from me.

Gave the game another try and thought I try the new ascendancy on sorc with the spirits and holy smokes, even the ascendancies in Ruthless feel better and more powerful.

Probably never in my "PoE Career" I unspecced an ascendancy faster than this laughable spirits. I just can't comprehend how anyone can play test this and confidently say: Yes, that's it. That's how I imagine to have fun in a videogame"
Against my better judgement I also gave 0.4 a try after not having touched the game nor read up on it since 0.1. I got curious if anything of value had changed in almost a year.

It still feels like trying to swim through a swamp. Every choice you make is still followed by the line "...but you also lose a leg". And the only way to become tanky is to still not play life-based. A lot of choices in that game are just contradicting and weird.

It's fine if the game isn't for me but I just don't understand the appeal of this mess at all. This reassured me that I won't be playing it on full release either.

im so confused. dint they made poe 2 for more casual players?
Game far harder then poe 1 and less casual friendly. combat is constant fear of dying. in poe 1 combat is relaxed.

Sadly, PoE2 was made neither for hardcore players nor casual players.

It's made for tourist crowd that is being hyped up by a decade of Dark Souls / Sekiro / Elden Ring continuous success.

They will come play this game out of hype, as intended by Johnanthan. Then leave this game, leaving a whole in playerbase and a purposeless game that caters to no real audiance, but this is not intended by Johnathan.

Slogging is not hard, it's just tedium. Even Dark Souls long time joke is their swamp level that literally every single player hates.

Johnathan took it too literal and designed a 25 hours of slow slop gameplay and thought he have did it, he have replicated Dark Soulz "Meaningful Combat" in the form isometric ARPG.

It's their honeymoon wearing off and starting to see PoE2 flaw, while people like me have literally been saying this for years. Even before PoE2's 0.1 release. Years.

PoE2's ugly head have been showing itself since 3.15, forcing PoE1 to follow it's slow-slop philosophy. And the entire playerbase literally blown up, and GGG have to retract almost all of their decision in that time.
