PoE2 going zoom zoom like PoE1. My take

Tbh, I have hard time seeing a good solution to this "problem" (problem in quotes, since whether it is or isn't a problem depends on one's subjective opinion).
Players want to feel progression. So you need to let them do a bit more damage, and go a bit faster, and have a bit more health, and explode a bit more monsters at a time. You can't make the start slower than it is, or it'd be too slow. If you make the progression less - and thus lower the cap - it might feel like you aren't truly progressing. To me, it seems that end game players more often than not actually want the zoom-zoom. I'm not a fan of it either, and GGG's preview videos and original vision got me interested after having quit PoE1 because it was just too zoomy and too focused on plain currency farming with little skill expression beyond making seemingly unviable builds somehow work. But end game in this league is already pretty much as zoomy as PoE1 was at the time I quit playing it. The campaign starts slower, but that slowness is mostly gone by act 2, except that you don't have similar travel skills. Being surrounded is also really one of the potentially deadliest situations to be in. But if monster amounts were like half of what they are now, and monsters were 20% slower across the board, that danger would pretty much be eliminated. I wish they clarified their current vision and design goals if those have been updated. And if they haven't been updated, they probably should update them. If the idea is to continue in this direction, I'd rather know early than late. |

It's pretty sad honestly, I don't get what the purpose of making it a different game even is anymore at this point. They need to change so much to make it a fun to play game that requires some sort of skill...
"Sigh"
