0.3.1 Is Awful

Now, as almost always, the game looks something like this. Players look at statistics, take popular builds in which the damage in area and on one target is overestimated to gigantic figures, and close all the content, this game is absolutely monotonous, it punishes creativity with stupid updates, does not regulate the league balance, because it is afraid of a big stink from such players, but it does nonsense in everything else as for the gameplay.

I have to say, after playing 1000 hours on POE 2, This update has absolutely killed my desire to run a single map.

What is the point and end goal of mapping now? previously it was to find a good area to juice and then run crazy out of control maps for a few hours - with loot and mass mobs as the reward

what is this new system ,its made the game and the atlas feel like no direction to go in... mythed.
and clearly this hasnt been tested as it feels totally awful and unfun

I guess you may just look for citadels, unique maps, and corrupted areas and keep all the maps juiced on the path. That being said I think you are making a fair point. This system will make you get bored pretty quickly. I think it would be great if each map node had some additional affixes and/or imprinted mechanics. Oh, here is a map node with a cool ritual affix, then maybe I will use some strong ritual tablets. So, you can actually scan atlas map and look for something interesting. In some way cleansed maps have this, but not every cleansed map and affix diversity is very limited on them.

I agree on boss part.

I would like to have an option of completing map by either killing all rares or boss.

Either way of completing, map should be completed.

Ye agree what people have been saying. I think removing towers was ultimately a good play for longevity and big picture. In the immediate though, with no real endgame player agency, it makes endgame incredibly stale the more you play.

Also wild they yeeted out rare monster icons (but kept them for unique maps) and didnt mention that in the patchnotes, classic move right there haha.

This issue is with the development team, not the players. If they don't know how to update, that's not the players' issue. It's an issue with the company's roadmap. 0.3 was great. They destroyed its potential when it could have been improved. Is this update as good as Jonathan proudly boasts, crossing his legs? Being required to kill a boss every map now - this really ruined it.

Happens to me at least once a day since 0.3.1 - I die from some boss, that I shouldn't need to fight for non-boss maps pre-0.3.1, getting one-shot. I lose valuable exp, try again else I'll lose completion, and almost always die again.

I gave up on 0.3.1 last night.
update is good, smooths out progression between sweats and casuals
nothing wrong with that

boss kill kinda sucks though, and i miss my rare monsters - now it's just hug wall until i find boss :/

0.3.1 is amazing. I was an inch away from quitting before it dropped. No way I was going to waste hours on worthless maps to set up a new region of 5~10 nodes that are actually worth running. Now I can just play and have fun and experiment with tablets etc etc etc. I only dislike the evasion nerf. And I would love to have the rare icons but that's ok.

When I say this understand that it's not your personal lack of enjoyment that I take pleasure in, but the more posts like this I read the more confident I am this is one of the smartest choices they've ever made for the game.

Like sure it's bad news for all the people whose only objective for this game seems to be minimizing the amount of time they have to spend playing it and whose builds were completely imbalanced in favor of 11-second map clears (I don't know at this point that might be slow for some of you), but like what does "I shouldn't need to fight" even mean in this context?

The fact that you "shouldn't need to fight them" was based on a decision that's exactly as arbitrary as the one that decided you should need to fight them so like you can just say you don't like fighting bosses but saying you "shouldn't need to" as if it's some objective rule that exists independent of the whims of the people who design the game just seems weird.

And, anyway, my real point is just fix your build so you can do the bosses dude. I bet you won't even give up that much of whatever you're investing in instead.
