Please: Remove Rarity - Magic Find from the game. Please!
I've literally never bothered with rarity and I cleared all content in 0.1 and 0.2 and in 0.3 all I've got left is T3 Simulacrum and Arbiter.
Like I get not liking how the stat works and feeling compelled to stack it, but saying shit like "it's mandatory" or "I get no currency" when it's definitely not and you absolutely do just makes me (and probably GGG) not want to take your feedback at face value. |

I personally like item rarity, and on gear too but I admit in POE 2 it's kind of messed up because of multiple reason.
First of all, after 150 rarity, anything you spend in is wasted. Thats right 150 rarity is the same as 500 rarity. Second of all pinnacle zones are not juiced by default, nor are the abysses. So rarity on gear feels mandatory for those area because you cannot juice them otherwise. There is a drastic change between 100 and 150 rarity. You get so much more good stuff with 150. If you have under 50, you won't see good drops very often. I like rarity on gear because it forces me to work hard to fine tune my gear and it creates a puzzle for me to solve in order which piece i need to sacrifice a mod for rarity. Per example, boot, helmet are a nono for rarity. At least rarity can be found easily on rings. But for other piece of gear it can be quite expensive, very expensive. But the expensive part and rarity of such gear is something i kind of like. I just don't like the way rarity find is implemented in the game. One of the thing i dislike the most about drop rates is the group bonus. All this does is give ultimate power to bots and companies farming the game with employees. " lol. You know that items could drop just fine if they changed rarity or even got rid of it entirely? This comment makes no sense. The reason why rarity does that is because that's how they designed it to work. If they change how it works, then rarity wouldn't be needed for that to happen anymore. It's really obvious, isn't it? |

" Same. They urgently need to change how party works |

" Being able to clear all content and being able to farm huge amounts of loot and currency are 2 very different things. If you can farm huge amounts of loot and currency, you can get rich in the game and then can afford to clear content using whatever build and items you want to play, including using things that are off meta, but which may be more fun to play. That's the whole point. Last edited by avastcosmicarena#5899 on Sep 30, 2025, 9:08:01 PM

" Not "the same." It's just not as big of a difference as between 150% and 50%, which is a good thing. It means they at least tried to do something. However, it doesn't solve the FOMO problem. It still means you really want to have 150%, which is not easy for most players while also trying to get damage and solving resistance problems. " Personally, I think that's bad game design. Right away, it means that the Ritualist has a massive advantage over every other class and ascendancy in the game, which means you either need to play Ritualist or you are going to have a much harder time or need much more currency to get enough rarity. Balance problems like this shouldn't exist. They cause too many issues. Healthy game balance would mean all ascendancies have potential to be powerful and to farm large amounts of loot and currency. They can still have differences and different strengths and weaknesses in other ways. Letting one ascendancy have such an advantage when rarity is so important is just as bad as giving groups with rarity bots so much more loot/currency and letting them dominate the economy. They are essentially the same problem, and that's just overall game balance. Last edited by avastcosmicarena#5899 on Sep 30, 2025, 9:07:32 PM

They have had this in POE 1 for ... the whole 13 years maybe, maybe a few less..
THey are married to it, they put it in both games -- it isn't going anywhere. |

in poe1 it atleast doesnt work on currency. But in poe2 it does, and its disgusting
|

the same people with no rarity on gear and have a real problem with it are probably not making any attempt to juice their maps either

" Wrong. It doesn't affect currency in POE 1. It did at one time and it was terrible, and they ended up getting rid of it. Then they brought the same thing back to POE 2 even though everyone knew it caused problems already and was removed from POE 1. |
