Major Endgame Changes in Patch 0.3.1 for Path of Exile 2
Looking good!
On bended knee with my arms raised hear my pleas to the gods MORE SIMPLIFICATION MORE SIMPLIFICATION MORE SIMPLIFICATION And simplification doesn't necessarily mean removal. It can mean to shift, or combine. So there will always be the giga-brained min-maxers who try and break your game. I get that they love complexity and they love "juicing." It must be difficult to balance things and cater to these, at times, insufferable narcissistic cry-babies who just want more and more. Present company included. However, I humbly ask that you continue to, at least in some fashion, provide more simpler end-game solutions. I think the changes to Towers and Tablets is a great shift in this direction. An issue I've had with the end game experience, is the significant amount of time spent crafting Waystones, then adding the Delirium things, and then the Tablets AND THEN trying to read and understand the heaps of modifiers and how they're going to effect a given individual Map. The issue being that it feels like there is a lot of friction there, in trying to simply run a Waystone that provides an appropriate level of challenge and rewards. The negative feelings arise of, "is this juiced enough or am I wasting my time?" That's the crux of the issue I'm having basically: all the lines of text, which leads to a lack of visual clarity as to the actual important modifiers that help me understand what it is I'm actually doing in any given Map. My eyes! My poor eyes! They could use a break! Perhaps we could see the amount of modifiers reduced and implemented in other ways. Some could be working as they do now but behind the scenes. Others could be shifted to a more global or permanent decision just like the way Tablets work now. Perhaps when it comes to monster packs, magic monsters, and rare monsters,(or any modifier for that matter) we could see the modifiers text removed from the Waystone, and instead have the information implemented in a visual form of some kind. So the modifier would still be there, but it's not text you have to read, instead it's a visual effect. This kind of power variance could be applied individually to each Waystone in the form of a visual mod, or the mod could be removed and added to the Map Device itself like Tablets. ("global juice") Perhaps we can see an additional inventory slot that allows us to carry a permanent debuff item like an effigy or a cursed talisman or something. These items could inflict both a debuff like temporal chains or elemental weakness in exchange for a buff of some kind like rarity, quantity, pack size, whatever. Again, to reduce the amount of modifiers we have to wade through in exchange for a simpler global interaction. Anyways, these are just some ideas, in the vein of what you're doing with tablets, I think it's great to see some simplification. Like a sauce that's being reduced in the pan. I think with a bit more time on the stove we have something delicious on the horizon. If I'm in the minority here, then I'll take the L. I like the changes I'm seeing and look forward to what's cooked up next. May you bestow upon us that which we require. Sincerely, An Old Grumpy Gamer TL:DR - I'd love to see more global decisions when it comes to "juicing," maps and less micro-managing the heaps of modifiers coming at all us from all angles. Less modifier text to read and more visual clarity would be appreciated. |

I feel like the towers add a meaningful and enjoyable layer of strategy and variety to the atlas endgame, it's sad to see it go, the described tablet mechanics sound similar to scarabs in PoE1, I don't think one should necessarily replace the other, but I think the scarabs solution makes the big picture more monotone and less meaningful.
I would also rather like the map clear speeds reduced rather than increased, via e.g. slower combat or larger maps, I think a bump in rewards could balance it out. I like the idea regarding alchemy stones. |

Great!
Now let's remove the damned monotonous gray smear that comes from instilling maps!! The game is pretty, I wasnt to play optimized but... actually be able to enjoy the game's art and ambience. Why is this such a big ask? | |
YES. REMOVE DELIRIUM GREY FOG => make the game 10x better.
THIS IS STUPIDEST DESING IN THE GAME CURRENTLY. 2025 = grey screen gaming POG have millions of hours and dollars to build powerful tech and develop super detailed graphics and models, GTX9090, 8K resolution 5D screen, processor from Optimus Prime, to end up looking at the 'BLACK AND WHITE SCREEN' like its 1970 !!! BRAVO GGG, maybe buy some common sense ? I mean, how beyond crazy sick madman, completely lost unhinged person can think of a design like this ? It must be some sleeper agent from competition to sabotage the GGG. TAKE A HINT PLEASE: GAMES ARE SUPPOSE TO BE COLORFUL - ok maybe black and white is occasionally reasonable BUT NEVER GREY. |
