Suggestion: Adding a PvP System to Path of Exile 2

No.

This seems like a bait/troll post, D4 has pvp and from what I saw of those areas while zooming through on a horse it was just a big money pit with nothing to show because PVP players tend to gravitate towards skill based games and not ones where a lucky RNG roll and a BS class with tons of CC or burst damage means you wipe the floor with 90% of the playerbase.
Nah man, I don’t need an AI to talk for me. If some of my replies sound similar, that’s just me typing quick and not overthinking it.

And yeah, D4 PvP isn’t perfect, but I wouldn’t call it a total money pit either. It’s messy for sure with the CC spam and busted builds, but some people actually like that chaos and risk/reward vibe. Not every PvP mode has to be sweaty skill-only like MOBAs or fighters—sometimes it’s just about jumping in, rolling the dice, and seeing what happens.
Why PoE 2 needs solid PvP:

PvP gives the game way more replay value. Once you’ve beaten the bosses and finished your builds, what’s left? Smacking around other players to see who really cooked the best build.

It’s not just about 1v1 duels either—arenas, team fights, or even PvP zones could make endgame way more fun.

Having PvP also pushes more creativity in builds. People don’t just copy the “best boss killer,” they experiment to counter different playstyles. That keeps the meta fresh.

Rewards could be cosmetic, titles, or unique challenges—stuff that doesn’t ruin PvE balance but still makes PvP worth grinding.

Why some players don’t want PvP:

Fear of losing—nobody likes getting stomped over and over, especially when they spent weeks gearing up.

Bad memories of other games where PvP was unbalanced or pay-to-win. They’re worried it’ll ruin the PvE experience.

Some people just hate being forced into competition. They play ARPGs to relax, not to sweat against other players.

RNG builds and desync in PoE 1 left a bad taste for PvP, so a lot of folks assume PoE 2 will be the same unless GGG shows otherwise.

My take:
PvP in PoE 2 doesn’t need to be the “main event,” but it could be an awesome side activity for players who want more than just killing monsters. As long as rewards are smart and it’s not shoved down everyone’s throat, having a polished PvP system would only make the game better.
I think if they bring POE1 PvP as it is to POE2, for your needs is more than enough.

No need to put any extra resources on this since it's already available in POE1.

Yeah, bringing PoE1 PvP as-is to PoE2 wouldn’t really work. The core idea—like arenas or PvP zones—is solid and needed, but it would need tweaks, balance fixes, and proper rewards to actually be fun. Skills, gear, and builds are different now, so copying the old system would just feel broken or unbalanced. With some adjustments, PvP could add a ton of replay value without messing with the main game.
Hopefully GGG learned their lesson from the PvP POE 1 fiasco and don't implement it in POE 2. At least not in the foreseeable future.

Hint: When GGG gave us a Battle Royale PvP in POE 1 it was so badly abused by some players ("cheating" was rife) that it eventually got killed off. There is still that PvP Arena, but not many people bother with it.

In a nutshell, it would be a waste of GGG time and resources until POE 2 is finished and polished. And it needs a lot of polishing.

Totally get your point—PoE1 PvP had a rough start, and the Battle Royale fiasco definitely left a bad taste. That said, I think PvP itself isn’t a lost cause; it just needs a proper rework.

If GGG wants to add it to PoE2 down the line, they could focus on:

Dedicated arenas with proper anti-cheat measures.

Balanced builds and skills so no one OP combo dominates.

Meaningful but optional rewards that don’t break PvE progression.

Small-scale test zones first to see what works and what doesn’t.

PvP could actually add tons of replay value without stealing resources from the main game—hopefully GGG learned from PoE1 and can implement it smartly when the time’s right.
