Bots can never be stopped :)1 bot banned 2 more appear
we just play the game with a help of a tool but we still play the game
peps are narrow minded . you use the game curency to build your char stronger i sell it . if i hacked the game to give myself items or curency that is cheating
Every game that it's worth botting i bot . there's no escape from me hahah

From the way to you post, it sounds like you are too mentally inept to play video games anyway, acting immature and unable to construct simple coherent sentences.
Go ahead and believe you are all mighty and whatever, if it helps you justify your unfortunate condition.

He didnt bot he used bug advantage to lvl 1 to 60 in 12 hours. It was bugged quest which later on got fixed.
Botting means that you use program who runs script for you and act1 inferno botting is super dangerous, only idiot would do that if you are in hc. Well since content is nerfed from release it might be slightly possible but still stupid. Back then no way. and he was gaining gear from act2 and act3 anyway to clear inferno.

There are some factors in PoE that will make botting harder than in D2 or D3.
One is the randomness of the areas. D2 had these too, but bots there had a maphack which is impossible in PoE as far as I know (I think I can dimly remember an old dev post regarding this, but I could be wrong).
Then of course the new end-game maps system adds to this randomness, where pretty much not a single aspect of an area is a constant (monster types, layout, required resistances, all random). Also, a bot can't trade for maps that fit the botting-character well.
That being said, I don't doubt that there will be bots. After all, they could just run pretty straight forward areas or white (non-magic) maps. Let's hope that the systems in place, and hopefully additional ones being added in the future, will keep bots from becoming a plague.
The botters will go to ridiculous lengths to bot man... its what they do for a living, some of them anyways
its not just your typical AHK script written up by some kid, games like runescape, WOW,d2 and d3 get targeted by bot programmers that can get around heavy detection and the problems (inluding the heavy randomisation) that you mention.
As long as the loot system is balanced around single player play and GGG sticks with their no auction house policy (trading with the community is completely optional and not required to progress), then botting will have minimal impacts on your average player
obviously RMAH 3 has gone in the complete opposite direction to this(the game seems to have been designed around the philosophy of supporting and catering to botters) and now their economy is in a period of hyperinflation.
From a technical perspective, this isn't true.
If you look at D3 (really good exmaple), the most prominent and effective bots are actually gold farming bots, and that is because they reloop the same achievments, as well as going down the same paths in static maps
Item farming bots in D3 however are terrible, and are often much worse than the rate at which real people farm. There are numerous reasons behind this, one is that past Act1 inferno, the difficulty ramps up so much that its not really possible for a bot to reliably account for this (remember that humans are much smarter than bots). Also its in later acts (like Act 4) where all the best loot in D3 is, and, where the random maps happen (and random maps do impede bot farming quite a bit)
There are other things as well, if vision in PoE is server side (not client side) than it won't be possible for bots to reveal the whole map unless they compromise the server (this would be a serious issue and is actually hacking, not replicating user behaviour). Maps will offer completely random areas and mobs (which is where all the good content will lie)
The other most obvious thing, is that there is no proper trading system in PoE, there isn't any real AH. Trading is designed to be done in person over chat and whatnot, and at least currently, trading is completely barter base. The fact that there is no real currency actually adds a lot of uncertainty about whether bots or not are actually able to sell the stuff. Furthermore, it would actually be possible to detect such bots, since most people engage in real conversations in trading (at least I do)
I honestly dont think botting is going to be much of an issue in PoE. The thing with D3 is it made all the mistakes to make botting happen, the most significant being an action house and making the game based off currency (the only thing valuable in D3 now is high tier items, which bots can't farm). PoE has done none of these things, in fact it has taken measures to actually prevent this

looolool so many misunderstandings about bots. in d3 i bot for items in wow for gold
botting for gold in d3 is the old and stupid way(tho many still do it )
bots don't go the same paths depending the bot :)
wow gold sells without the need for ah
there are ways to go around random maps :)
aight just wanted to say you all shouldnt be so against bots cos in the end we still playing the game and not hacking or stuff like that to get items/curency
and even if u dont like it you can't stop bots :)
Peace :-)

Of course there are item bots in D3, they are just really shit compared to the gold farming bots, and there is a reason why this is (its due to how the D3 game is designed). Real people (like Kripp) actually farm the high end gear much better than bots do
Wow gold sells because it has gold. PoE has no gold, it has no universal currency. All trading is done by bartering, unless the buyer is offering an item that the seller finds useful, they won't get a trade.
Also as people have been saying, learn some god damn english

Ok firstly to those talking about how "hard" it is to stop botters. much of this isnt hard, its that the game designers/coders ignore common sense. if you want a better idea of this just go to youtube and watch defcon/hope talks about botting. they cover a LOT of common problems that make botting easy.
that being said, f2p or p2p has no difference in botting, look at runescape. f2p and p2p sides both filled with bots. as someone has pointed out though all it takes is friggen 1 person on payroll who sits their and nails botters/spammers/abusers at all times, no you cant catch them all instantly, but you will get rid of so many of them so quickly that it will not be profitable to bot. which brings us to the REAL way to stop botters.
its not game mechanics, its not how your economy is set up, or randomness etc. Its that these companys LIKE bots. boters buy the game or pay to play it, so having them their increases the cash they make per month, they dont CARE about the long term damage. obviously this doesnt seem to be true for this game so far which is great! but look at runescape, not one bot busted for 6 months, then all of a sudden they ban 100k accounts and brag about it! did it really take 6 months to "stop" these bots? no. but it let them post an impressive number to make it look like they were fighting it hard while making cash for 6 months, note right after that not a single update or extra botter was banned. in less then a month it was as bad as it was before. Now why would that be so? Again they wait too long to attack them, lets say it takes 2 weeks for a bot to pay for itself(subscription+game) in your average mmorpg. if thats the case then you need to be breaking the tools used/banning the accounts and keys before then. if you do this then your game will NOT be botted, because your making it not profitable for the botters. which brings us back to hiring a few people, a few coders for server side detection and a few people to just be in the game and get rid of the others manually.
