Not my type of game anymore
I’ve been playing Path of Exile 1 since 2013 and loved it for a very long time. It has gotten a bit repetitive over the years, but every league still brought some fun—at least for a few weeks.
The campaign in Path of Exile 2 feels like doing homework. You don’t want to do it, but you feel like you should. Only this time, I won’t continue. It’s just not fun. It’s clunky, boring, and way too long. This isn’t Path of Exile anymore. --- Translated by chatgpt :) Last bumped on Sep 2, 2025, 3:10:59 PM

Youre absolutely right, this isn't Path of Exile.
It's Path of Exile 2, which they said so many times would not just be more PoE1, but a different style of game, and this style is a lot better. PoE1 and PoE2 do not have the same target audience. |

100% PoE 2 is a very different game than PoE 1. And I vastly prefer PoE 2 to such a degree that when I tried to go play PoE 1 again I just could not enjoy it. It's good that they tried to do something different than PoE 1 because it means players like me get to have a game that actually feels good start to finish.

Poe 2 is tough. It's not for the weak.
They have Poe 1 for mindless zerg. If all else fails, Diablo 4 exists where you can completely turn your brain off. |

It is sad for sure. It could have been such a great ARPG but instead they made a an Xbox action style game. One good thing though is that GGG seems to have finally realized that PoE 1 is the much more popular game due to the success of Ziz's event.
They are finally starting to bring more PoE 1 systems into PoE 2 to try and get people to come back. Time will tell I guess, but there are a lot of fundamental design issues with PoE 2 that need to be fixed and I don't know if that's even possible at this point. | |
" It's 5AM EST and there are a quarter million people playing PoE2 I promise you nobody gives a shit about "Ziz's event" dude. Last edited by Kerchunk#7797 on Aug 30, 2025, 5:01:37 AM

" It's not sad to me, because there's already great ARPG's being consistently updated. PoE1 and Last Epoch both scratch that itch for me. But I also like games like PoE2, which scratches and itch that PoE1 and LE don't scratch. I do get it though, if it's not your cup of tea and you just wanted PoE1 with a fresh coat of paint, this game definitely isn't that. Which is understandably disappointing. I hope that once they finish the base game for PoE2 they consider giving PoE1 that fresh coat of paint people want, it'd be great if they could make everyone happy. That's probably a big ask though. |

The flood of refugees from other games that have come here with their opinions of POE1 which they have never supported and likely never played is just ... mind boggling. Yet the numbers speak for themselves. A VERY small percentage of the pcustomer base wants a game like this.

" aaa lol? Dude look at player chart counts. POE2 yesterday had TWICE more players than POE1 at its peak this year on its league release. Face this fact, POE2 is more popular by MEASURABLE means. Anything else is coping. |
