So, go acquire NPC, talk to NPC, put item. ok

Who wants to buy, have to go on website, then go in game, then .. then..

You guys really smoke something hard, that can be found only in New Zeeland.. never seen such effects.

Maybe the in game trade UI will come in the future. They could have no time to implement at this point. Whatever it is, the current first iteration is a huge step improvement already. [Removed by Support]

I'm surprised Deuce's trade isn't the REAL hardcore we had in PoE, at the beginning. You wanted to trade? You and the other party both stepped out into whatever instance was connected with town, dropped your items, then walked past each other to pick them up.

That was meaningful trade, with no zoom-zoom or third party websites. Just the way people in a savage land would do it. =^[.]~=
=^[.]^= basic (happy/amused) cheetahmoticon: Whiskers/eye/tear-streak/nose/tear-streak/eye/
whiskers =@[.]@= boggled / =>[.]<= annoyed or angry / ='[.]'= concerned / =0[.]o= confuzzled /

There would be no simple method of trading and no auction house. GGG will not implement simple trading and auction house because this will not bring any income for them.

The reason why the current trade system is so out-of-date and so clunky that you need to go onto a website to search for sellers' items is because of premium stash tabs.

Premium tabs which are necessary for trading bring in a lot of income for GGG. It would be detrimental to their income if GGG implement auction house and then sales drop for premium tabs because players stop using premium tabs for trading.

GGG is going one step further to implement merchant tab and asynchronous trading. This is going to be one more way for GGG to bring in revenue.

Hence there's no reason for GGG to make an auction house because this will not bring in revenue for them.

It's all about making revenue and benefitting the dev and it's not about making trading simpler to benefit the players.

did you play the game before? it worked like this for years.

yep, one of most hated feature, trading.

When I think to play POE I remember trading part, and suddenly all my will decrease instantly.
Ya I mean back in the day people just yelled from West Commons tunnel or something like that and you ran over there if you saw something you wanted. Then eventually you could keep a character "logged in" as a merchant. You searched found an item you wanted then had to go find the "merchant" in a sea of merchants.

Before that in Ultima Online people just had NPC merchants at their house. It was great wandering around... people would put a bag of stuff to sell on their merchant and accidentally price the bag for like 1 gold... and that's if nobody killed you (or tried) to kill you while you were shopping with pretty much full loot on death.

The website interaction might not be the best, but it's not that bad. I mean I just click a button and teleport to where the merchant npc as opposed to no answer after trying to contact 100+ different sellers.

Sure if would be cool if they had an in game auction interface... especially if they could keep all the search filters.

As to people talking about premium tabs and revenue... they can certainly sell you a "premium" something that simply is part of the "in game" auction system. Where you search and if the item is for sale you could just pay for it. Then get teleported to the npc to pick it up if need be. Merchant npc's or whatever are not going to be "free" and you'll certainly be able to spend money for more selling space of course they can make revenue on it.

what are you on about? you would list items in auction house by putting them in your premium tab. But instead of using website for search, you would use in game feature. No more teleporting to hideouts. If the trade happened, the game would directly take the item from your stash and put it in buyers inventory. You would still need premium stash to sell, just like you do now. The whole process of transferring ownership of an item would just be automated. With the added gold price per purchase to prevent bot trading.

the way they are implementing asynchronous trading is basically perfect, are you just complaining for the sake of complaining?

They are working on adding a trade UI in game so you don't have to use the website. https://youtu.be/xtEyX2GCwfU?t=4938
