I think having it set up so that the seasonal supporter packs do not grant beta keys, even and especially during the free weekend access, is a mistake, I think its going to blow up your support queue, and I think its such an easily foreseeable problem that I am legitimately surprised they let it get to this stage without addressing that.

Even besides the obvious implications for the support team, its such a low hanging fruit for marketing that if it was any lower it would be subterranean. That is on top of the psychological implications that its going to look like you're trying to nickel and dime players trying to give you money for supporter packs, and since there are 5 separate lines of supporter pack I can guarantee enough players are going to get told to "Just buy a supporter pack so you can keep playing" and then buy the one they want instead of the singular supporter pack line that gives it to them.

Im pretty sure that if u dont own POE2 key, then u cant buy any supporter pack. Not on the POE2 website at least.

As long as they have the same thing implemented in the game, then its fine.

Just for kicks I made a new account using my email as opposed to Steam. The "new" account with no key can still see the support packs in the shop on the web page. The four current "support" packs and then of course you can scroll down to early access packs. In fact on the web page when you hover over shop and click "buy packs" the current 4 support packs are the first thing you see.

Maybe they include early access, but they certainly don't list it. I don't feel like spending 30 bucks to find out because I don't need another account.

R u talking about poe2 website?

I just checked again on the account without a PC key and i cant buy any supporter pack. Only the one with the key inside. Everything else is just blocked.
EU servers are gonna be completely unplayable...

A free weekend the same weekend they're releasing a patch on the EU servers that are already notoriously hanging on to dear life.
Yeah, what could go wrong.

I suppose the new patch for EU players starts on 2nd September.

I have to assume you're confident in this, because it's a huge risk to do a free weekend the same weekend you're releasing the patch. You are banking on being able to handle a huge influx of players. If you fail, free players won't buy and people that bought will feel cheated.

Frankly, as someone who has paid to play early access, I'm gonna be pissed if things are not working because a bunch of free players are clogging the servers. And if something else goes wrong unrelated to the free weekend, players now have this low-hanging fruit to blame.

If you're this confident about it working, why not build hype over the first week and do a free weekend the weekend after? If this is a stress test, it's a huge risk. Either way, it doesn't seem well thought-out.

Please reconsider.

This.

Thank you for doing additional diligence on this point, as I said it seems like a great way to make a lot of potential new customers very active in their discontent over this, and of all the potential customers they'd want to be discontented I can't imagine they'd want the ones willing to actually give them money to be on that list.

It looks like a pure oversight to me, like somebody gave somebody a directive one day and then never revisited that conversation.

Yes the POE2 website. This morning on the new keyless account I went all the way to where it asked me to pick billing. Just now when I saw your reply I logged on that account and now all the support packs have the price button showing up grey. Again... that was not the case earlier today when I first did this.

Hopefully they are blocked in game as well for the weekend free session.

Right but that is just as bad, because if they do not want the contents of the core pack then they're likely better off waiting until its free completely and buying the pack they do want for path of exile 1.

The only path forward that consistently adds to customer satisfaction is to include beta keys in those seasonal packs at one or more of the tiers. I certainly don't want new players feeling like they're getting nickel and dimed or forced to purchase things they do not want.

your attacks on autobomber and choir of the storm triggering will not work.
you attack ice wall, nerf temporalis, then nerf blink when you could have just done 1 or the other are not suitable.

we will figure it out. you will not win. you will fail.
