i genuinely dont understand why we cant just have alt ascendencies

i tried to play the ziz gauntlet just because i wanted to play a bit more of the alt ascendancies but i cant fucking stand hardcore.
the way it demands me to play is so wholistically antithetical to fun for me. were they too broken? like LS was? like penance brand was? like hexblast was? like [insert any broken build of any league ever] was? the concepts present in some of the alt ascendancies are so fun but ig we just had to suffer through the shitty idol system or being forced to play hardcore and that is our only chance to experience it in an actual league environment. im just genuinely disheartened that phrecia was the way it was (ruined by idols) and now all that alt ascendancies are is a fragment of the past. My gripe with idols was just the initial setup...I think if they were added in addition to something like the Atlas Passive Tree, it would have been amazing.
I agree, in hindsight, it would have been nice to experience those over an actual league. I'm grateful we got the event considering all the disappointment though. It was a breath of fresh air and exactly what Path of Exile needed. |

If GGG ever gets time crunched again they can just run an alt ascendancy league and hammer on PoE 2 for another 4 months.

Each ascendancy is another variable to balance the game around. They already have so much to take into account when creating new items, bosses, mechanics. You have a game with a massive skill tree, the ability to play any skill you want, dozens of crafting methods... but yes, continue to complain.

Agreed, they could even get away with a 4 month content cycle if they just did a regular league launch and then a Alt asc re-launch 2 months in. Idols probably not so bad now that they're more understood, but atlas would be fine too. I'd be more likely to skip the trickster league than Alt league at this point.

enjoy events while they are there, the phrecia ascendancies could probably just be added but its also nice for them to be special and wheeled out occasionally. Some of them also have very major balance concerns *cough* ancestral commander *cough*
players that want events made permanent all the time just make less reason to do events |
