0.2.x Campaign Feedback from your target audience.
AverBeg7 my man, i respect your opinion, but i think i'm right and you are dead wrong.
i've played this game A LOT, my experience and my feedback isn't based on one playthrough, i've experimented with all kinds of dumb shit, i've even done a normal items only campaign run so i'm keenly aware of what hurts and what doesn't in the campaign. i might not have been straightforward enough in my previous posts on the crafting matter so let me say it plainly here. i don't craft at all, i stopped crafting in 0.1.x. whatever rares i drop that's my gear for the campaign and the rest i get of the trade site, this is boring this is lame imho. |

" Wrong about what specifically? Can you actually point out anything I have written that you can prove to be false with any evidence whatsoever? Last edited by AverBeg7#1689 on Jul 26, 2025, 3:51:00 PM

" now you're just trolling <3 spend 10 minutes on craftofexile, pay close attention to be amounts of currency you need to slam something useful and then factor in artificer's orbs and runes. then compare that to spending 1 Orb of Transmutation/Orb of Augmentation at a crafting bench for the same result, if you prefer that, more power to you. i'm done with that whole aspect of the game until they change it, which is a shame because that's one of the things i loved about PoE 1 even tho i'm a new and inexperienced player in that game. i truly believe that GGG are trying to recreate Diablo 2 Classic (a 25 year old game btw) for whatever reason, the item chase in that game is very similar to what they are going for in Poe 2. resetting zones in the campaign until you get a good item is the whole game! don't get me wrong, i'm a diablo og, i was there for it and i loved it, but can we move on? PoE 1 > D2, why not bring over the good stuff from your own game, it is vastly superior. |

" I asked what I've written that seems wrong to you, and for your argument as to why. I get called a troll, you cite nothing, then go on a rant about craft of exile and weights? I wrote, elemental resist is better/ more important than the other things you can socket in PoE2 or craft in PoE1 during early progression. That is just a theoretical and practical fact that you cannot disprove. I wrote, you do not need great affixes to progress, just the right level base, and one or two useful. This is also a fact, because hundreds of thousands of players plainly do it on every league start. I wrote, runes in PoE2 are more flexible and strong than the crafting bench in PoE1, and I meant it in terms of the campaign and early progression. The reason this discussion is based on ele resist and the required minimum is because this post is about the campaign. In the campaign you should only ever worry about crafting resists and wearing the right level gear. In PoE1, and PoE2. In both games they end up being the same for early progression. Which is what this topic is about. Campaign. Early progression. It is completely fine to not have great gear, it is not fine to never try to fix your ele res, getting one shot by ele damage is one of the first problems in the game you should aim to solve. This is not a discussion about how likely an item you want to craft is, and it never was. You seem to completely misunderstand how PoE1's crafting system works and why it is stronger though. You can't just craft whatever you want on an item. You can have a single crafted mod, that is usually worse than a T2 affix. It is not benchcrafting affixes early that is strong in PoE1, it is the ability to save affixes and reroll items using meta mods, to get more naturally good affixes on the base. That is something that is in the ultra late-game, and it usually takes dozens to hundreds of divine to even have a good attempt at it. Last edited by AverBeg7#1689 on Jul 26, 2025, 6:58:29 PM

" He literally asked you in the nicest way possible what he could of wrote might be wrong and to provide some evidence. It was in good faith. It seems like you are the one trolling him with that first reaction. Don't take everything as an attack or personally and nothing in his respsonse was offensive or aggressive. |

guys... i've given my feedback, i've even clarified my position on crafting, if you are content with the basic crafting in PoE 2, that's awesome, i'm not here to change your mind.
personally i hate it and i won't be interacting with it until its changed, the rest of the game is so good i can look past this "stain". " i didn't rant, if you like gambling, cool, not me tho. " first, i don't want sockets i want the crafting bench. secondly, i disagree, physical damage is the deadliest thing in the PoE 2 campaign so getting as much life and/or es as possible is prioritized over resistances. " completely agree and i said as much. in what world is T7 phys % a great affix? did you not understand my point perhaps? i don't want to gamble 25 times for garbage. again! i don't craft when i play! it's a waste of time and currency. " oh really? i'd tell you to check craft of exile again but i sense you have some aversion to the site so i took a screenshot in game: https://imgur.com/a/QNEVC0g " i never mentioned resists once in my feedback. let me craft what i want without gambling, that is my feedback. " do your understand now why i accused you of trolling? I STARTED the thread and everything i've written on the subject is about low odds and tedium, maybe i'm a bad communicator? i though i was being intelligible tho. " i don't need an crafting education from you bud! i'm well aware of how it works. |

You mentioned wanting a crafting bench, which in PoE1 is only used for crafting resists in the campaign. Your entire feedback is about the campaign. You haven't even gotten to the part where you could use meta crafts if they existed. That's an ultra-late thing. In the campaign you should be happy with whatever you can get. You wouldn't even have the late-game currency to make anything if it was available. If you understand PoE1 crafting, then I am not sure why you say there is "too much currency" or why you ask for a crafting bench in the campaign. Why would you refuse to interact with currency, but love the idea of crafting one essentially useless affix for a tiny bit of armour or phys damage? The only possible answer is that you do not fully understand what you are talking about. Currency = crafting, in both games. It is made more powerful with meta crafting in PoE1, that can only be done on a high budget in the ultra-late game.
Physical damage that cannot be evaded or blocked is very few and far between. In PoE2 the dangerous ones are slams, which are all telegraphed and you have time to move or dodge. Physical damage can mostly be mitigated with easy to build layers, like block and evasion. Just equipping a shield with block will do a thousand times more than having perfect armour rolls on every piece and socketed with base increases. Elemental damage is not so forgiving. If you are at 0% ele resist, you are going to die as soon as that damage hits you, if you don't die then you are going to be inflicted with an elemental ailment that will probably get you killed. The game expects you to build resists, so they are not as well telegraphed as the slams. You 10000% should be putting elemental resist in those sockets. If you are not, you are trolling yourself and making the game 75% harder. In 99% of encounters you write something like "unfair" or "vfx doesn't match ability". I am 99% certain that this is just because you refuse to acknowledge that elemental resist is important, and you die to much more than players who actually build it. A discussion about whether or not there should be meta-crafting in PoE2 does not belong in a discussion about an SSF campaign run. These things do not go together.
