exp loss suggestion
suggestion since some love this and some hate it
here a compromise , let make the exp loss capped to the exp u earned during the map u died in for example u earned 2m exp during a t15 map u ran if u die u lose that 2m exp if u finished the map those 2m exp is urs and u cant loss it. to it sounds fair . Last bumped on Jul 25, 2025, 12:13:08 AM

I dont think the problem is the xp lost on death.
The problem is that the XP you get past let's say lvl 87/90 is depressing. Dying at high lvl is litteraly multiple hours of playtime lost. This isnt normal, but we defenitly need a death penalty. So i think they should scale experience you get on T15 map according to your own level for exemple or something like that. As i understood they are reworking XP for high lvl atm so i would just wait and see. |

I think there are 2 paths. Either GGG make POE2 a game for
- niche of gamers, hardcore gamers, players generally more than 35 y/o who are used to hundreds of hours of gaming and challenges. These players are generally for xp loss, like me. Though I suggested it could be reduced to 5% Less people but more loyal. - a more global public but which I think will not be loyal to this game and will just stop playing after 150 hours - but more people on the short to mid term. In both cases the game can still be good and for that we still need challenge. The trick is not fall into the trap of what happened to the latest Monster hunter Wilds, where all the spirit, challenge of the original saga was lost. " I can confirm, lvl 99 is almost hardcore in softcore if you want to keep the mental strength to make it. I died 3 times from 99 to 100, still made it with omen. With Omen you lose 6 to 8 hours per death, manageable, it's just long guys. It's a journey. Just don't ever forget the omen. Should keep people playing instead of the opposite ! Volfa - level 100
