Given the recent summoner influx because of you know who

Summons target the enemy that you're targetting. If you're using no skill you can simply press shift then cilck your target with an attack.

That's pretty much the same thing you're requesting.

Oh are you for real? Every minion you have goes straight for the enemy you specifically are attacking?

I agree completely. I know PoE is all about a smooth, clear HUD but summoners could benefit greatly from a pet window similar to Dark Age of Camelots. Use / commands to have all of your pets assist the main pet, you, or choose their own targets; After that, once you summon 1 thing, have a small window pop up that has "Passive" "Aggressive" and "Here" options. These options can be check-boxed 1 at a time, and along with the slash commands, would give you complete control over how your minions reacted.

I suppose their are other ways to implement it, but this one seems the most simplistic to me, while still giving the option to keep things the way they are if some people like that.

One other thing, when you are stationary, your minions should be as well. It's quite silly seeing them run full speed back-and-forth between point A and point B 10 units away.

I'm in the process of leveling a witch at the moment who is using fire, and has 4 zombies and a spectre to tank a bit when needed. I've never seen all my pets on the same target unless there is only one target and I'm constantly shift+casting fireball.

They kind of do, not really full proof. I cast at an enemy and most of the minions head for that targeted enemy, some of them just run around and get stuck behind things or are attacking other enemies.

P.S

You've been "THUNDERSHMUCKED!" :)

It's not that smooth or instant but it does work somewhat. Cursing enemies also has the same effect which is what most high level summoners do. It's only temporary control though since they become random right after that.

Then there still needs to be some work done.

If minions don't drop what they are doing and go straight for that monster specifically, no, it's not pretty much what I'm requesting at all.

Hell I'm not even actually requesting it. I just thought I'd ask if anyone thinks it would be nice to be in control of their summons.

Again, I don't summon for the sake of summoning on PoE because they are a trainwreck imo, so I'm not begging for this to be implemented.

Just wonderin if anyone else would like more control over their own summons.

It's really REALLY frustrating seeing 7000 minions missing the one enemy in a horde they actually all should be going after.

Hurts my OCD for real.

"Go for the fu...goddamnit stop going after the FUCKING CRAB THING GO FOR THE RARE MONSTER HES RIGHT THERE DO IT"

Would be a bit better if it was, "Go for the fucking rare, thank you, now do what you want."

Not that I really play this game anymore, but I would have loved to see them not die in 1/4 of a second due to ground AOE, Especially in maps!

THIS is a huge point actually.

"Master, I see some enemies in a orange circle, I'll protect you. Oh god why are we all on fire. Save us m...master"

THEN YA GOTTA CALL UP THE FUNERAL HOME AND SHIT ITS RIDICULOUS THEY DIE AGAIN REALLY?! THATS OUTRAGEOUS!

Zombies are only one function of a Summoner.

Most Passives and etc come with combined improvements for Zombies + Skeletons.

Yes, you need two separate Gems, but, essentially, they're one third each of the Summon's canon.

For immediate personal protection you have the Zombies. They prioritise any enemies who are within a certain distance of you (unless they are otherwise engaged in a very big mob, at which point they're at least preventing most of the mob getting to you). They are the bodyguards.

For specific mob targeting you have the Skeletons. These can be launched into the outfield and will attack the closest object to themselves (or, if none are close, will wander around aimlessly but in a general outward direction). They are the attackers.

For ranged support you have the Spectres.

So, when you have all three parts of the summoning skill, it all works fine. Taking any one of them on their own and, yes, you likely don't 'get' what they're all about. But that's fine, that's more a problem of a completely free Skill Tree and Gem selection system than it is with the summons themselves.
