WASD in Path of Exile 1

Probably gonna be one of the rare people to say no to this on forums because I just happen to stumble on this even I am happy how Path of Exile is and have no reason to be on the forums.

Just go play PoE2 with your WASD its made for that.
+1 Very good point, forgot about the fact gamepad in practice is technically the same as WASD just with more axes so with current mechanics and balance in play there is virtually no reason not to just add a setting to enable WASD movement for those that prefer it.

Please do this, it cannot be harder than porting and adjusting existing gamepad code. My Hand hurts from the permanent movement clicking.
They won't implement WASD because it would be totally unfair in PVP. People using mouse to move would be at a disadvantage to wasd users.

Also if GGG implements WASD, the entire game will be balanced around it, putting once again mouse movement players will get a more difficult game.

This stands out as the weirdest take I've ever seen in that regards.

He's got a point, though. Not about the PVP, obviously, who cares, but about the game's difficulty balance. There's a HUGE difference between "playing with a controller" and "Mouse + WASD" in terms of what it allows the players to do, in terms of speed and precision of fighting while dodging. The game as it is currently balanced would be LAUGHABLY easy if we had PoE2-style movement, so GGG would almost certainly have to make boss telegraphs far shorter, and their projectiles move much faster, and so on. Which I don't think is a reason not to do it, because I see skill expression as a good thing and more of it yes please; I'm just saying that GGG can't just dump in an objectively superior movement schema without overhauling every single boss in the entire game to keep them engaging.

Ya, with wasd/controller precise positioning of your character is some significant value larger. Its also possible im biased because im old and the slow movement of poe2 may be why it feels this way. I do think its possible (but i cant remember 100%) that i tried sehkema with keyboard and mouse and controller and found controller way easier. The inventory management/crafting is just toxic.

Wasd is a good middle ground but if you use your keyboard for hotkeys tight situations in hc dont seem great if you're trying to move with wd and hit e r t f at the same time. I think if we had controller + keyboard mouse seamless transition that would be the best of both worlds.
We really need this, do it for our wrists please.
We don't want poe2's movement as it would break the game. Just being able to move direction with wasd. That'd be very easy to implement it already kind of exists for joysticks
