Very stupid Decision to kill Frost blade of katabasis

He isn't going to be wrong :p someone necro this one in 2 months but gut feeling is its DoA, i've made a PoB i'm pretty happy with for it but its sufficiently expensive that it'll be a later character and by then I suspect a new skillgem will have baited me into playing something else bad instead.

@Aynix I've mentioned this before but looks like you've already forgotten. 2 out of my 3 builds this league including my league starter use off meta skills. Meanwhile you are playing a freaking strength stacker. Can't get more OP and meta than that. You calling people out on playing meta stuff is the height of hippocrisy. Just stop.

LMAO calling out someone for using proper way to scale damage.[Removed by Support] What next? You will try to call out someone because he used melee weapon on a melee build? Because everyone does that so its clearly a meta?
I had enough money for it so why wouldnt I gear up my Lacerate properly?

Lets see those "offmeta skills" of yours
Lightning Strike, Molten Strike of Zenith, Frost Blades. All three of those were nerfed.
Only one that wasnt nerfed was Conc Path. Good job in finding this skill, I would never expect you to touch skill that doesnt have bilion DPS on 10 div budget.
But since you want to be so nitpicky about how I built my character - you played Charge Stacker, which is just as OP as Str Stacker.

People forget that this is an atlas expansion as well as a new league and I'm sure with the new crafting and other mechanics there will be things to mitigate the nerfs whether it's a new base and enchant, a rune graph pattern, idk. Something always compensates for the nerfs if you stick around long enough.

I really really hate how ggg handles nerf and buffs. They never make it right. They either kill the build or make something too op...

While I agree that their nerfs and buffs often miss their marks, it's kind of hard to really hold it against them. In a game with so many moving parts, so many multipliers, so many different ways to build, scale and execute, it's more or less impossible to "get it right" without substantial testing.

I've been mad at their approach to balance before. Now, I just enter every new league with a clean slate, and don't think about what I did last league at all. Why would I care about them nerfing a skill I played last league? Especially when that league lasted for a year with 3487 different events, giving me more than enough time to do everything I wanted to do with that skill?

If people just stopped locking their mindset to one skill, they would actually realize that melee is in a pretty good spot these days, and there's plenty of good skills out there - and plenty of ways to scale them.

it's not hard to not kill a skill but they do it out of malice

Of course they do.

Yeah I hate how their nerfs, most of the times, barely can be called nerf and people still play same thing again.

The problem with nerfs will always be the extreme disparity between low end and top end.

A build with Molten Strike of the Zenith and 150M DPS is not gonna give 2 shits about a 33% damage nerf. Crazy how this 100M DPS build is still completely viable and OP, yet a build with 3M DPS getting nuked down to 2M DPS, because of this, is getting completely shafted left, right and center and feels barely playable.

Without some form of DPS cap and/or content adjustment, this is never gonna change. Lower DPS builds will always get fucked by nerfs on the top end.

My 4.5M DPS Poison Spectral Helix 100% Phys taken as Fire tank build from a couple leagues ago was relying on flat Chaos Damage where possible to get some decent DPS for endgame, and it was completely gutted the next patch (less than 2M DPS, iirc) when GGG decided to nuke damage effectiveness on Spectral Helix because of certain abuse cases.

That, imo, is the real problem. Gutter builds will stay in the gutter because GGG only keeps looking at the top end.

Ofc they will look at top end. Thats the way they should do it. Just because your 10 divine build isnt OP doesnt mean the skill itself isnt busted.
