D3 RMAH was 1000% better

Seriously, your trade system makes me hate the player base, makes me hate GGG design/devs, makes want to quit playing.

As much as I dislike players raising their prices, that isn't the problem. The problem is the no-shows. I can literally try to buy 10, 20, 50 different items for an hour and get nothing. I can be willing to pay double or even triple the low going rate, players still don't respond. I can offer them more money, nothing. I can stalk them as a friend, to make sure I'm not harassing them, and wait to ping a second time till they return to their hideouts and don't immediately port again. Nope, they could care less.

This is YOUR PROBLEM GGG, NOT THE PLAYERS. There are all kinds of things you can do which would make this better, some are features, some are punitive measure for those that ignore trade requests.

1. Auto-AFK while in a map. Enable this by default, let players disable it if they want.
2. Allow breakthrough trade requests over a specific value, otherwise you are considered AWAY.
3. Delayed trade requests message while in combat. For bosses, let the buyer know it is delayed.
4. Offer to enable AWAY/AFK for them if they miss more than 2 trade requests while away from town/hideout.

5. Players that ignore more than 3 trade requests from different people or 5 from a single person, should be set to AWAY till they return (or leave and return) to their base.

### The single best change you could make would be to provide auto-completing transactions as an option on a per item/stash tab/value level. If you want to maximize seller agency, warn them that the current average listing price is lower than their set price if they try to enable auto-complete on a low priced item.

I mean, i coulda gotten 100% behind you if you said WoW's auction house, but you just had to...
GGG - Why you no?
I don't think that's the playerbase. I think it's the bot farms. Not that it helps you any, but 95% of people just want to trade honestly. Maybe that makes you feel 5% better?
The Trade site is controlled by the RMT sites.
They can buy all the good items people are looking for off trade as soon as they go up, then they post them back at insane inflated values and keep a low amount on trade.
Example, I had a +3 Twisters diamond I wanted to sell
I look on trade and see less than 10 listed all the exact same diamond range from 14 Div to 150 Div. That literal makes no sense at all.
The guy who had the one posted for 14 also had another one posted for 100. Everyone of them listed was just mix of numbers or letter account.
I msg the cheapest one to see if it was real or just price fix, of course they never replied it's just a fix.
I posted mine for 22 Div right away get a request to buy, I sell it I was way fine with that.
I check the account I sold it to, guess who it was, the guy who already has 2 posted for 14 and 100 Div.
With the power to buy they can wipe anything unique off trade and from there on they control the price. This is happening with ANYTHInG good.
This is the only reason why like everything is 10x the price is should be.
When 10 Div items are now a 100 Div Tencent clearly has somewhere for any sane player to go if they want an upgrade or just gear in this lifetime.

Crafting hahaha, they did the same with any useful crafting items. You can't afford to even dare craft.
Essence of dilrium 40ex nope now it's like 8-10 Div.
Whittling, nope, who's got this kind of currency.
Good items don't drop, can't target farm, can't grind power, can't craft.

Options, quit job and farm 10 hours a day to even have some in-game income, get insanely lucky or just head over to a Tencent owned website.

I can't even imagine all the newer players who want to play the game and see some RMT YouTubers "OP Build" watch it and since the neck beard doesn't tell them you'll need around 500+ Div to get this build working they must just quit.

Last league wasn't like this, so many more builds worked...cheap. The trade site wasn't so Clearly being this hard full of corrupt manipulation.

This is all GGG's fault, they don't take action on any of this, it's clear to anyone who plays. Nerf everything into the ground. Play Lightning spear.

Way, way, way way more items last league were great. Builds are so limited that the pieces needed for them to function make is easier to control power in trade.

And there you have the root of everything wrong with PoE, and frankly, with the entire genre, with very few exceptions. PoE is a trade-first game - playing the economy is far more powerful than actually playing the game - which means the entire structure of game balance, player expectations, build viability, etc, eventually ends up at the mercy of RMT actors. Most builds feel weak because you're also supposed to play the economy to get them to a desirable level, but the economy is a rigged game by default. For most people the only reasonable options are to either become the equivalent of a low tier office drone and scramble for scraps while knowing you're just a little cog in a big machine that makes some unsavory characters at the top even richer, or go live in abject poverty in SSF just to spite GGG.

I needed to make the most offensive comparison I could without it being bannable. (Though, perhaps I crossed the line...)

Since my OP, I've attempted to buy a hundred more things, and I've succeeded just once. Two other attempts responded in an automated way. All of the rest were ignored.

RMAH would frankly be better than this if only because we be more likely to have our trade requests responded to. Anyone read Neal Stephenson's Reamde? Maybe it could work...

Come on GGG, I just don't want my time wasted, and that is 99.5% of what happens when I try to use your trade site. Please fix this, I want to continue to want to play your game!

truth.
Agreed, the POE trade system is absolutely abysmal. I don't even think any player run trade can be sensible without limits to prices. Any trade system, that encourages scalpers, bots, trade players etc and the thing that shall not be named is just bad. I'd just go with an NPC system and be done with this abomination.

I legit miss the D3 AH. Screw the RMAH for a minute, but just the AH. I used to absolutely love scrolling through items for upgrades, and finding that rare yellow and throwing it up for 2b gold. It made me play the game. I'm getting excited just thinking about finding that next huge payday.

At this point. GGG and Jonathan just arent listening to player feedback. An AH would be amazing.
