I'm not your test subject.

the game is the player’s experience. There’s no clean line between testing mechanics and testing patience—they’re one and the same. If the game breaks you, that is the feedback. That’s the whole point.

Saying ‘test the game, not the player’s patience’ is like saying ‘test the fire, not the burn.’ They’re inseparable. If the player breaks, the system failed—or worked, depending on what was being tested.

Actually, you are their test subject, because you of your own free will decided to buy access to an unfinished and early version of the game. The whole point of releasing things in early access is to get player feedback early so they can adjust based on that feedback as they move towards a full version.

If you thought you weren't a test subject, that's because you fundamentally misunderstood what you were getting in to. I'm not even defending the game, much of the criticism leveled at it is very fair. The expectation that it should be a finished and balanced game, though, that is absolutely not fair criticism. That's just you clearly not understanding the concept of early access. You are by definition a test subject.

I don’t think you understood what he implied and that’s ok.

He just said that he quits and won’t be their test subject.
And just because you bought a key to play a “beta” it doesn’t make you a test subject since the test subject is supposed to be the game and not the player. GGG tries to see what players can endure and that’s what’s wrong. Test the game and not the player’s patience.

I apologize and also thank you for feeling the need to explain to others what I meant by my comment, as it seems it was misunderstood. I'm sorry that you had to take on that responsibility.

That’s a bad premise for game testing/designing. The game doesn’t need to break anyone to have good feedback. It is feedback nonetheless, as you say, but it’s not necessary and preferably avoidable.

By the way, not everything that burns (combustion) have a fire (flame)

It feels like a complete game with their mtx stores selling skins for 30 to 60 bucks and supporter packs going from 30 to 450 bucks. On top of that they already charged us $30. I'm tired of people excusing everything away saying its early access.

1000% this. Other wise why be so concerned with end game that you slapped the worst crap from PoE1 onto the end of PoE2 and as ascendancies?
I can myself use a filter to just show... nothing from bosses and other loots.

And like that, I can complain for months on forum.

Smart !!!

Btw, about strongboxes, you can see hundreds of clips of players who drops 4-5 exalted per strongbox...

MTX is optional. Early access was a personal choice, you could have waited for full release when it will be free.

They are free to charge how much they want on the MTX, what is the issue?

This one is amazingly well said.
What is the ask here? How many divs per hour do you feel you deserve? Ever thought of not playing the game in a trade league so that big ticket currency drops are not the only thing you consider valuable?

To the person who said the players are not meant to be test subjects.

I hate to break it to you buddy, but in a game like this the players and the metrics you can gather from their behaviour are essential to balancing both loot drops and character/monster power.

That is essentially why they pushed this VERY unfinished game to early access. I understand that not everybody wants to take part in that and that's okay.

Make a decision and move on, instead of spawning yet another whine thread that's devoid of any form of actionable feedback.
