Going in the right direction, but exp. Loss is pain point

I really think that the experience loss on death should be revisited. What sick person asked for this? Losing hours of grinding is not fun. Its frustrating! Maybe this worked for Poe 1, but it was still well hated.

Why isnt there a cap on how many times per level this can happen? Thus is a harder game. If I run into a rare that can pop dead enemies, well I might as well just call the map failed.

I like that endgame farming is punctuated by ups and downs, by feelings of danger followed by relief, and that occasionally you notice a scary mob or situation and ask yourself whether it's really worth it. This more than anything is what breaks up the monotony of the endgame grind.

Experience loss one death is one of the handful of things from PoE 1 that I feel strongly should not be altered. It's a great system for rewarding good play and making defensive stats consequential short of full hardcore.
If there was actual class balance, if defense stats mattered, if it didn't feel like there was only one way to build a crappy non-meta character then EXP loss on death wouldn't feel as bad to me.

I speak strongly for XP loss and against people who try to get it removed.

If you can't play without dying, you don't deserve XP. If you want it so much, fix your gameplay, fix your build. Play white maps. Play tier1 maps.

If GGG made tier30 maps, and everything one shots, you'd complain about tier30 maps instead of just playing lower tier maps.

Imagine climbing mount everest and complaining its too cold and too high and too dangerous. Why don't you climb a hill instead?

The people who advocate for XP loss don't care if they reach level 100 or if they were stuck at level 90 forever. They don't care about leveling, hence why they would keep playing even if it was removed. Gaining and losing progress doesn't matter to them - they just advocate for all modes to have a hardcore element because they enjoy seeing other players frustrated.

XP loss is the sole reason why I stopped supporting these devs during season 1 and why I won't be spending any more money to support them until they make a change.
i wont be supporting them either if they removed xp loss. makes gearing meaningless. people who complain about xp loss are likely the sort who'd use cheats in fps, coz dying isnt fun.

You would still have hardcore mode for your imaginary prestige.
Thanks for the input. Its fine to have a different opinion. But my opinion still stands. I've played necropolis, and settlers in Poe 1. I have a level 100 character in settlers.

So to say I should climb a hill instead of everest is silly. I think nonstop expierience loss is arbitrary. It is not fun. Will I reach 100, yeah. It will just be less fun getting there, and more frustrating. What is wrong with a cap on the expieriece you can lose per level? Or some other change. Like hardcore mode? People with limited play time should just play lower tiered maps?

And skill issue, by something randomly blowing up? Come on, or the purple plant bombs that randomly spawn when the rare is already dead.

Do you lose xp in fps? No. Also, thats player vs player. This isnt.
i quit this game until xp loss is removed.. spending money elsewhere

Delevel toons. -1 lvl on 1st death. -2 on 2nd.

Ban people from game who die on HC. Allow access on paid sub.

If you want punishment then make it count instead of some catty footing around with 10% exp loss.
