" Yes they removed the reliability of the skill. And left the skill a near 0% chance to deal increased damage. And in addition the more critical magnitude from the acendancy node was actually being utilized. But now the second line is a near 0% chance to even provide any such benefit. The self ignite node now is only being utilized 50%. So in addition to removing the damage GGG also made the node far less beneficial and creating a great degree of inefficiency to the build. I understand a garantee hit could of been an error. but to then provide no way of getting the crit through any means of investment reliably is non-existant. Now the citadel boss fights went from a 2 minute fight to a 6 or 7 minute fight. GGG really creates some bad situations for players. A rather decent build destroyed and then given no tools to build up the damage that was removed isn't at all a good way to motivate players to keep playing. I guess GGG didn't want anything to take away the player base from lighting spear. This is starting to feel like GGG's action are to make other builds less attractive so as to move people in a build direction they are allowing to be the best "power choice". This in turn creates value in items that catter to those builds. And there is a large monetary value attatched to the most powerful builds and items for those builds. It is quiet strange to see so much effort put into changing other skills when Lightning spear demonstrates a clear over tuning of the skill in addition to a vast majority of player base using a build. Most of their changes have been removing build diversity and getting players shifted away from other builds that feel as fun to play while maintaining a reasonable level of power. |
