i quit after 400 hours bacouse exp lose
Oh brother. First you pretend like there are no other consequences of dying... then you try to flip it into blaming the player wih your abhorrent, condescending attitude. Why am I not surprised?

I never said there are no consequences to dying. I simply asked you to list the 5 different consequences of dying and you ended up spitting a word salad to say I juice my maps too much. No need to be salty.
Dial back you slamming maps with currency till its 1 attempt and you will get more value out of your time invested. https://www.twitch.tv/satsuinotanden for streams. Last edited by DreadlordMephisto#4974 on May 1, 2025, 10:41:29 AM

At least a corpse mechanic should be there tl regain most of what was lost. The way it is nothing is "learned" and causes only frustration. Constantly buying omens is anotjer mandatory way to get past 91....

The point I was making (in response to the strawman put up by others) is that XP loss is not required for death to be consequential. There are other consequence for dying. Thanks for being honest and acknowledging them.

People in favor of XP loss need to just play hardcore. Death is meaningful and if you die there it's your fault because your build sucks.
There's just flat out not enough XP gain in the higher levels to justify a 10% XP loss. At the very least it needs to be scaled back around 1%, which would punish you for excessive deaths but not be overkill for someone who dies rarely. Or raise map tiers or XP gain for juiced maps. Something needs to change. |

" You only need another 500 hours to go from 92 to 100. It's funny you aren't even lvl 100 while rolling with energy shield which is the easiest defense. |

Not normally against XP loss because normally it means there is a definite skill issue or you need to build better defenses. In this game it isn't really feasible to just build better defenses and go slow though. That on top of the extremely slow leveling actually makes me on the side of getting rid of xp loss on death.
I cannot find the number of hours it took the world first on hardcore to hit 100 in 0.1 but I swear I remember seeing the reddit post saying it was in the neighborhood of 500 hours. Softcore took 364 hours with what appears to be an OP 0.1 Temporalis build. Even with removing the penalty only a small portion of players will hit 100 making it an achievement regardless. |

just use the omen... the fix is already in the game

400h and dying at least every 3rd map (assuming no omens) would make me rethink some choices and would be no fun at all even without exp loss.
What build do you play? What are your defense layers? What is your approach to mapping? Did you think about reducing some ÷increased effect of map mods nodes on your atlas or playing less modifiers? I mean this doesn't affect the main purpose of the thread since even if you solve that you might run against a wall later but somehow everything in the OP says that exp loss is not the major problem here when talk about fun in this game. |
