Item Changes in Path of Exile 2

Same people that haven't noticed that POE2 actually had higher peak player count than LE the last few days :) but hey, I guess LE is much better, just weird it lost its player count to equal or under poe2 in like 2 weeks.

And you are aware that LE had a life-time peak player count on steam of less than half of POE2? POE2 had less than double peak count in April, and the average player count is not even 20% higher.
Also POE2 Recent Reviews "Mostly Negative" while LE Recent Reviews is "Very Positive".

Ah yeah very positive review and losing 2/3 of the playerbase within 10 days...
140K to 40K.
Guess streamer echo chamber is not that useful (loot pinata and 0 challenge with meaningless progression) and really hope GGG takes note to not going this road.

The worst league/cycle of GGG history (if you listen the karens vocal minority) went from 250K to 170K within 10 days.
With a patch quite barebone in term of content (1 class no new end game mechanic)
250K is top 50 ALL TIME conccurent player on steam only, add GGG launcher and consoles, do the math if you will.

GGG needs to check data, not listening to streamer gen Z everything is due nothing is earned and avoid listening to the tiny angry minority(very vocal) that will never be satisfied regardless.

the most stupid thing in this game is tower, who the hell create this stupid shit ?.

One side effect of this change would have been to make Player Item Rarity that you get on mods on your gear more valuable also, which is not our intention. In order to counter that, we have reduced the effect that these mods have.

We have also lowered the Map Item Rarity mods on Maps as these were having too large of an effect after these changes. The overall effect of these mods will still be similar to before, but the displayed number is lower.

I'm extremely worried about this part

Player retention is just as important.

Based on Steam data:

PoE2
Launch (0.2): ~250K players
After 14 days: ~150K → 60% retention
After 30 days: ~50K → 20% retention

LE
Launch (1.2): ~150K players
After 14 days: ~50K → 30% retention
30-day data not available yet

So far, PoE2 is holding onto more of its players longer. It also likely keeps attracting new ones, while LE’s growth seems to taper off after launch.

The key takeaway: PoE2 is steadily improving, and patch 0.2+ updates have been strong. Open Beta is clearly working for them, and steady updates show they’re listening to feedback.

To the devs: You could balance the backlash on 0.2 out by squeezing Druid and Act IV into 0.3. ^^

Druid + new Act and imagine Blight ;)

They can trigger any of it at their will and Steam conccurent players will go to the roof instantly.
They are in EA, beat all the records for 0.1 (Top 17 all time peak conccurent player on steam ONLY) - They just have to be patient and work towards what they want the game to be and 1.0 will be massive anyway.
We have the ARPG of the decade whatever toxic Kevin claims.

Another braindead take 🤣
I want to turn off all gold drop, so this useless g@#$% stop deleting my loot.
I can FLY!
Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/WDRU/
People are missing the real reason this game feels so bad to play in Endgame!
Loot scarcity is only a small part of the problem, if at all.

The problem is and was the same as in 0.1:

The crafting in this game is almost not existent and we have zero agency about the progression of our items.
None of this changes with the new patch!

Given how mods and mod pools work in PoE2, the chance to hit an item that is good are abysmally low, having 5 times the currency to craft is almost meaningless if you throw it against the mathematical odds you need to beat for a success.

I have played SSF to pinnacles in 0.1 and 0.2 and while loot does sometimes felt scarce, i was already spending so much time hording bases, transferring items from maps to my stash and transmuting, augmenting alching, 3 to 1'ing and all those tricks to maximize my chance to beat those odds.
It already takes so much of my game time, it already felt like a massive chore.

Even if i can throw these pointless currencies 5 times more on my items, that wont make the game more fun. On the contrary, it will make it even more of a chore.

I said it after 0.1 and i will say it again here:
PoE2 has the worst crafting system and item progression systems out of any of the current-gen ARPGS.

Throwing currency at the masses might work short term, but it is not a solution to the problem, it is merely a fix for the symptoms, if at all.
This is awesome thank you ggg. Personally I still loved the game anyway even with the bad drops. But now I love it even more

I made test just to see how things are going.

4 maps -> 300# rarity + Quant

4 maps -> 160% rarity + Quant

Outcome from the maps

Avg 3-5 ex + maybe up to 2 chaos and pile of rare garbage on the ground.

Worth playing again?

Nope.

You are aware that the patch has been removed and will be deployed (again) tomorrow? All your testing is without any of the changes mentioned in OP.
