The POE subreddit has blacklisted Jonathan's name

You cannot mention Jonathan's name anywhere on the r/pathofexile subreddit.

I just thought that was an interesting tidbit. Speaks to the state of the game and how well GGG has been handling feedback.

GGG is not affiliated with the subreddit. Chris created it, but he handed it over ages ago.

I'm aware of that.
It's just gotten to a point where mods are scared that if the subreddit gets too snarky GGG might refuse to address real issues that the users bring up.

They went from being very communicative to essentially radio silence.
It looks really weak, but it's an expected defensive reaction to a fair wave of negativity
haha this is actually right, I've searched for it and only 1-2 instances in the last months. That middle finger image meme really sealed it huh?
Second-class poe gamer
They used to ban people even for pretty harmless criticism of the current situation. I think that’s one of the reasons why 95% of users on that forum are expressing frustration

But that's because it's Reddit. The GGG forums are moderated by paid GGG employees which are fired when they abuse their power, but the PoE subreddit isn't ran by GGG, rather by volunteers.

And an unpaid job of having power against people, no matter how small, tends to attract the types of people that do dumb shit like censor Jonathan's name.
tbh i'd like it if people would stop mentioning that name it just fills me with so much rage every time i read it
Jonathan is a legitimate target for criticism. He's a public figure and POE2 is clearly his vision. He gets credited for its success, but he also deserves to be the target of criticism for its failures.

All of us that have criticized him will owe him an apology if this works out in the long run. If it doesn't, he will likely end up having to step down.
