Loot is actually great. GGG knows what they are doing.

Play SSF to T15 maps with anything other than LS and report back when you have some perspective.

BINGO.

ANYONE saying "LOOT IS FINE" is either engaging in real money transactions or they didn't even make a character in the NEW economy. Most of these people are just using the curreny they built up in 0.1 and using it to twink out a new character in 0.2 instead of going on the actual Dawn of the Hunt realm.

Yesterday I was grinding juiced T15 delis for 6 hours. Guess how many exalts I got? A whopping 10. 10 exalts.

Not worth ANYONE'S time.

Agree. Did 12 juiced maps today with over 150% quantity and rarity (and 100% in my gear) and just crap crap crap and 1 divine. Get all atlas ready to prepare a proper farming zone, use your best tablets and maps with rarity and quantity for that bullshit. This is not fun and doesnt worth my investment. Fed up abount being a guinean pig and leaving the game, same as 170k people who did already (from 250k to 80k in 2 weeks). Well done GGG.

I've made a research after patch 0.2.0. I searched to find items better that those i have in my gear. Unfortunately in market all the items now are way lower quality.

Where are those good days that made you count your Divs one by one to buy one good thing?

Currency system drop it's different from item system drop. But one's change doesn't destroy the others balance.

Items drop should be rewarded in top Tier boss. Otherwise what are you doing in the game?? Try reaching 100 level?

Pathetic....

Multiplayer online game is balanced around trade. SSF is a self imposed challenge.
Thats backwards also. The single player game is the experience. Now you make a multiplayer around that. Or you just make it a mmorpg in the first place.
PoE2 0.2.0 patch improved ways you're getting loot massively, players are just not interested in finding out how to generate it successfully. Almost everyone is mindlessly repeateing slogans about gambling and lack of crafting options, and how much easier and more efficient it is to just buy upgrades on trade site, but what they don't realize that most of those items where found and crafted using existing systems, most likely with a profit.

PoE1 and PoE2 are very different games by design (another thing whiners don't want to understand), and I'm happy this is the case. They should be different, and loot generation in PoE2 should significanntly differ from PoE1 approach. What would be the point in going over the trouble to release a new game?

I'm very happy with the direction this game is going in terms of gearing up your character. Still lots of work to do, for sure, but I sincerely hope devs will keep their initial goals in their hearts and never give way to a mindless mob.

I would be willing to accept progression loot if it actually was that.

Your OP has no example of how it went for you and yours.

So far, all my guildmates who have quit 0.2 had complained that drops were garbage. This was well before I decided to join in, since I knew what I wanted to play needed more tuning.

By the time I was done with Acts 1-3, I knew loot wasn't in a good state. Very few mats to work crafting with and not enough bases for what I wanted to play to even work with.

I presume, based on the stuff said by Johnathan and Mark, that I should be looking to do the following:
1. Find some items on the ground that are a higher tier base or have some affix I like.
2. Use or save based on the state of that slot on my character.
3. If saved, use orbs to add affixes. Consider regaling only if it has decent affixes from trans and alteration. Otherwise hold for reforge.
4. Continue 1-3 until I find a decent upgrade to regal.
5. Repeat 1-4 until I have a decent 3 mod rare to exalt. Repeat 1-4 until I have enough 4+ mod items to reforge.

Maybe use some essences here and there to focus on the rolls, however... What I have experienced is that even the first 2 steps are not viable. I get so few bases/items with the base mod I want, that I spend no time rolling.

If I find a decent rare for a slot, it lasts for a bit, but nothing of real value drops for me. So I end up saving what I can and getting currency to buy what I need and what works.

I think merchants should sell some bases. If the plan is to roll and reforge, then bases should be available at all times. Maybe have the merchants sell bases 1 tier lower than the zone/region.

Mind you, this is all campaign thoughts. Endgame is a whole different thing. It is all about rare drops there. Mats and rares. Filter everything else out. Reforge and all other crafting options have too much rng to even have a chance of being filtered in.

Yes and that 100% has nothing to do with the new season of LE that has been hyped for months before release. No one, in their right mind, would ever play another game in the same genre of video game that they love. Nope. Never has happened since the beginning of happenings

And worse, if we look at the overall tend, it's down from 580k to 50k and not even out of early access.

A whopping 600,000 people didn't consider the game even worth checking back in on due to it pushing the Ruthless game mode style, which almost no one played in PoE 1.

The formula for success is already there, they're just pushing a vision that no one wants, no one enjoys, and no one will pay for. Hell I gave away 6 free early access keys and NONE of them are interested in playing anymore.
