On death effects are unnecessary. They have no reason to exist

I say more on death effects! Let every single enemy have one!

dont take away my reason to say to you "get good" and "learn to play" or "learn to avoid mechanics"
but you see... there is a combination, the fire monster on act 2 that explode after he dies with the fire brasier... In the trial of sekhma, if there is a rare with tengebility proximity, it cant be avoided at all the dmg So... if there ever be implemented the no hit sanctum... it might be impossible to do if this little nasty combination appear |

They exist because of the nebulous reason called "friction".
I've seen games with loot pets and auto-sort inventory buttons though, and those are some amazing qol features that detract nothing from the game and only make it better. So yeah imo they could delete all on-death effects and it would be a positive change for the game. |

Yes, they should make this and it will be more fit the "Vision"
|

" Pretty sure the vision would be to have mobs with on death effects though Or they just didn't think much about the whole issue |

The reason they exist is to punish greedy builds and the impatient.
|
|
" That's just a bandaid not a fix inherited from poe1 "and the impatient" Ah yes. It's peak game design that I should look at my loot on the ground for a minute until the 10 pools of goo despawn lmao If I wanted to learn patience I would go become a buddist monk or something, not play an arpg Last edited by iHiems#0168 on Apr 27, 2025, 10:44:24 PM

They are a byproduct of zoom zoom meta from PoE 1.
Maybe the same goes for archnnemesis. Most people hate: - 1 shots - On death spells/effects - Archnemesis GGG made those because it's the only way to make the monsters pose some threat to zoom zoom OP builds. As long as these kinds of builds exist, these 3 things will never improve. Last edited by Gordyne#2944 on Apr 27, 2025, 10:45:34 PM

Don't clump all 10 goo-poolers together before killing them. Alternatively, get enough recovery/mitigation to /dance in the goo!
