On death effects are unnecessary. They have no reason to exist

I never see this being talked about, but for me, by far the worst part of the game is on death effects. It's not even a close competition if I'm going to rank how bad I think this mechanic is compared to anything else in the game.
I see no reason for them to exist. Like, at all. - Dropping a pool of blood on the ground after I killed a monster does not make the game harder, it makes the game more annoying. - Making me disengage combat because some random monster is about to explode after I killed it does not make the game harder, it makes the game more annoying. - Slowing my progress through a map that doesn't have much space because a bunch of monsters dropped a pool of goo after I killed them does not make the game harder, it makes the game more annoying. - Making me pay attention to a monsters I killed 10 seconds ago because it's about to spit some goo while I'm fighting another pack of monsters does not make the game harder, it makes the game more annoying. The list goes on. Everything on death effects do is force you to slow down. I killed the monster. I expect it to stay dead *because I killed it*. The real question since this is a feedback post: How to fix this? Remove on death effects. I don't mean nerfing it or making them appear in less monsters or less often. " Yea, sure, it's not like there's not enough monsters alive trying to kill me. Imagine the following scenarios: Scenario 1) You're fighting a pack of monsters, there's one that drops a pool of blood. This isn't going to kill you unless you're completely unaware of what you're even doing. What it is going to do is force you to move somewhere else because now there's a stupid pool of blood on the ground from a monster you already killed. It doesn't do anything other than slowing you down. Scenario 2) You're fighting a pack of monsters, there's one that explodes. Again this isn't going to kill you unless you're completely unaware of what you're doing. What this is going to do is force you to disengage and move somewhere else because it takes seconds for that monster to explode and since movement speed is slow/you can get stunned, it's best to move. That zone the explosion on death effect covers is not different from the one that has the pool of blood. Again this doesn't do anything other than slowing you down. Scenario 3) And probably the most stupid one is when your way simply gets blocked because there's on death effect(s) happening or that are about to happen. So you either take the damage or stay there watching it for a minute until it's finally over. None of those scenarios kill you. Although it can happen, this isn't the main point. Tanking the damage is just bad even if you can tank it, it doesn't make the mechanic better either. It's bad as design choice for a mechanic to just do free damage to you because it's noninteractive outside of something like Unearth on some specific mobs, and bad if you're taking free damage while you just want to engage with the next monster pack. |

why does it bother you so much, i find burning grounds in maps is more annoying
and there is no bots, it is friends that follow you around i have learned here |

" They're not mutually exclusive so I don't get your point in bringing up burning grounds. If anything, on death effects only make burning grounds worse, but that's going on a tangent since stuff like temporal chains also get affected. As for your bots comment, I think you still didn't understand what a "rarity bot", "aura bot", "heal bot" is. Idk if I find it funny or what |
