Loot is fine

I am surprised to see folks complaining about loot. Maybe it is because I started playing 0.1 a few months into it so I don't have the perspective of those who played it from the start (and I also was too new to know I could take advantage of rarity on items), but, to me, loot in 0.2 seems fantastic.
In Diablo II, I could grind for months and never find the item I wanted - and it's price might be prohibitive to get from trade. Meanwhile, in 0.2, I'm swimming in divines, getting the end game gear I want, consistently upgrading, and it feels like there is a much more healthy economy this go around than I felt in 0.1. I was honestly thinking that some of the godly items I've been able to get have been a little too easy to get, to be frank. But maybe just don't know what it was like in December. I AM frustrated that I have the same thinking I did last patch - have to find pack of towers, have to take certain nodes on Atlas, have to juice maps, have to have specific attributes on maps or towers or they're a waste - but I guess those considerations add a strategic and quiet skill element to the game. Not sure how to fix that. And it is definitely true that exiles and azmeri spirits are worthless - the former does not drop anything decent, the latter too slow (and doesn't drop anything decent?). I have no icnentives to do them or to priortize them on my atlas tree, which means that of the many nodes on the atlas tree, it feels like there are may be 42-44 worth taking (ie, obvious choices). Not sure if strongbox loot is worth it, but I absolutely love the unique strong box dynamic. Whenever I see one I do it. And nothing more fun in this game so far than seeing Ventor's dropping 10 vaal orbs for 2 million gold one time and a perfect jewellers orb another. It's added another element to what I do with my gold - I would LOVE to gamble it with Alva for amulets but I'm always need the extra gold in hand in case I stumble upon the delightful strongbox. Anyway, my two cents. Know there are a lot of loud voices saying loot is bad. I hard disagree. TBH, I'd advocate the other way and say restrict it (I don't think it's been decreased this patch from my experience, my guess folks are just not clearing as fast as before...). EDIT: One thing I forgot to mention...again, it does feel like some items appear WAY too frequently. For it being a Pinnacle fight, I've had WAY too many opportunities to fight the King of the Mists (I've taken them each time). The unique tablets are so strong - it is CRAZY they drop as frequently as they do, it makes simulcrums, breachstones, expedition logbooks, and king invites SO easy (though king invites are already so easy). I read the messages in this thread and the experiences others are having for me is genuinely perplexing. I am NOT an experienced player. I am a noob to POE2 and only got to level 49 on a templar on POE1 like 10 years ago. I'm surprised folks who are presumably more skilled than I am are not able to generate as much loot or currency as I have this patch. The primary way GGG could make my experience better is getting a fragment tab I could buy ... ritual, breach, and expedition tabs would be nice too. nonono, dont compare this to diablo II
in diablo it was only depending on your character level, you got a rare drop it can be anything in this game no one really understand whats going on |
" +1 I don't get the complaints either. I'm already making multiple trips to town I don't want to be sorting more stuff. More build defining uniques would be good but otherwise think its fine. |

What are you even smoking? In 100 hours 0.2 i only got 2 divines, 1 Greater and 2 Perfect Jewelers Orbs from drops. In T15 maps with 9 tablets and 6 mods i get 3-4 exalts. In 0.1 i got 4-5 divines from drops every night and 10-12 Exalts per map.
The gamble boxes are fun but i've only seen 3 of these in 100 hours. Gear drops are made worse by there being now even more weapons and affixes/prefixes in the pool while even less opportunity to carft (aka gamble) due to the poor currency drops. |
" Because you're measuring in divines that's why. What you mean is currency not loot |
" Loot is currency and gear and i've adressed why both got (significantly) worse. |
" Everything you said came back to currency. Gear is dropping but it's missing mods and you need currency to complete it. |

No.

" Well, thank you for pointing that out Captain Obvious. |
" You said it. |
