Is the problem Jonathan?
" Brother, please. You will not have me believe that you actually played this league and you didn't notice some extremely obvious problems abput how the league mechanic was implemeted. Also it is undeniable that ggg has been under-delivering even if you take their word word for it. Poe 1 schedule was not upheld, despite promises it would. 0.4 brought no changes AT ALL to the endgame despite very excplicit mentions that this league would have a strong focus on endgame. Tota (aka third trial of ascendency) is still not in the game despite mentions it barely didn't make the cut for 0.3 and should be expected to be ready real soon. At some point people will get annoyed at broken promises, it's unavoidable. |

" I enjoyed hte league mechanic and saw it as a good base. I understand that it will take time to fine tune everything. I just don't get annoyed by it. GGG for most of us have been delivering and delivering more. Each league gets better and better. I do agree that they should make the POE 1 schedule more viable now so that all the "POE 1 is better than POE 2" can just shut up already and let a whole new POE 2 community build without their nagging. .4 was promised to have endgame content but during the Q&A their reasoning was extremely valid. Mark didn't wanna do a half ass job and they decided to make it its entire own league. Which is fair. Its not a broken promise. THey are not your loved ones or people you even know. They are a business that has a small staff and is trying to deliver stuff on time...which sometimes doesn't happen. People need to grow up and realize its just a video game and they are all working their butts off to bring a free game for all of us to enjoy. Its really not that serious. |

Jonathan has produced a financially successful product at the end of the day. He is winning, you are losing. Is it one that a lvl 1 to lvl 99 Sweat Lord, of which I'm one, enjoys? No, not really. That's the crux of this.
Some gamer lore that's analogous if interested, maybe tldr. I'll skip D2 to D3 because we all know of it. I saw this same stirrup when I played and tournament organized competitive SSB + SSBM and Armoured Core. SSB/SSBM were good enough to be accepted at EVO. Armoured Core almost made it into EVO at one point, but it fell short. Alot of people have no idea about this. That's how intense AC was before the release of AC4. Sakurai showcased Brawl and we, the Melee faction, were not impressed and the same for From with AC4. In both cases the games were being simplified to become more accessible. Almost all tech skill were removed in both games. In ACs case, theory crafting builds practically didn't matter in AC4. FromSoftware hit rock bottom with AC4. Dark Souls fanatics probably don't even know the lore on that. In the case of Sakurai, Smash ascended to new heights even though the game empirically and objectively has a lower skill cap and lower complexity. After continually being pressed and pestered by the western audience about why Brawl was the way it was, Sakurai finally answered. He essentially said the game isn't for Sweat Lords and it should be for casual fun. That it shouldn't be taken seriously at all. Outside of financial growth reasons, Sakurai obviously got alot of mail (real mail in those days) of complaints from plebs about Sweat Lords robbing them of their enjoyment when going to a local meet up or tournament by getting JV5'd by a Bowser main that hadn't showered since the neolithic age. For Sakurai, he and the Brawl faction definitively won the Smash Civil War and rest is history. For FromSoftware, everyone lost until Dark Souls (Demon Souls wasn't really that well recieved, its a cult classic) picked up momentum for From and all the lost prestige were not only restored but prestige added unto them ten fold. They clearly studied that massive almost-a-decade failure and applied it to Elden Ring. POE2 imo is showing the Brawl success arc. Is that horrifying to me personally? Yes Did I want the game Chris intended? Yes Would the SC andys complaining about POE2 being Ruthless when it's not, while also never played Ruthless, also hate that game? Yes Would that game have likely sunk GGG into the depths? Yes To make light of it all, take some advice from a two decade gaming civil war veteran with 69696969 confirmed K.Os: Don't take POE2 serious. Find something else to do if you find it so hellish, as do I. And now you know why tripping is in POE2. Last edited by M0ren#4075 on Dec 23, 2025, 2:14:27 AM

" They did work on the endgame. They halved the drop rate on currency in endgame maps and they deleted endgame crafting items, replacing them with.. nothing. lmfao | |

I like Jonathan's ideas. But he is own worst enemy. His nerdiness makes game great, but there is part of that has negative consequences. By solving 5% problems, he makes 95% of game worse in some situations.
Example (I don't know if it's him directly responsible, just to describe problems they create themselves.) Buying items from vendors during campaign. In PoE 1 when you level up vendors refresh items. In Poe 2 they wanted to fix problem that sometimes you don't have money and good item is in the shop. So they scrapped refreshing all. Now just some items refresh. Aaaaaaand now it's fked up. There is no sense going to vendor and check items one by one if they refreshed. The help that we would need in Poe2 is bricked. |

I think the former GGG members are very tired, and this is affecting their decision-making processes. Perhaps they should retire or leave and do something different like Erik Olofsson.
Neden yaşıyorsun?
