Catering to forum QQ is one of the bigest mistakes a company can make,
for example while developing the game, your own judgment produced a game that attracted 500k players,
and that's pretty dang good.

Yep!
Agreed 1000%
I've spent more in PoE2 than any game I have played in 30 years, even got a handful of mystery boxes since the patch.
Do you know why?
This game is pretty incredible.
Lots of people out there with mystery box cosmetics in a community that hates the game and the mtx that gives them the things they are wearing.
At the end of the day I can just kind of chuckle at it all... And say GG, GGG on a great game.

You forgot that all the the supports of poe1 and content creators that made it go viral brought it to those numbers. Once that fell off what happened? The numbers are dropping. They had a massive hype train that derailed.

It's interesting that the number of complaints about the game being made too easy, as well as the number of complaints about it being made too hard are both very high. It seems that the only thing the majority of the forum can agree on is that they don't like it.
But I think that people sharing what they don't like and that affecting the game's direction in some way is a good thing. These "don't listen to them, listen to me" posts are a little ridiculous.

They don't like it, yet they put hundreds of hours into it, only to complain more they don't like it... But then just to be sure they play another hundred or so hours... doesn't seem like they hate it to me.
It's not a marriage - you can just stop playing the game if you don't like it. It won't track you down, take your assets and slander you.
I think the people on here that post their 900+ hours in the game and then say how much they hate it are funny... mostly because they are blind to the irony.
You don't have to play it...

Not really. Many of the people, who don't like it now, they want to like it. They're looking for something that they can like about it. There are lots of people here, who've played PoE 1 for many, many years. It takes a long time to drop a game that's very much a part of your identity.

Well... that is a them problem. I think a professionals office would be the place to vent that issue, because there isn't a video game out there that becomes part of my identity. Video games are my hobby, but my identity... nah mate.
Does explain some things though with that context. A bunch of people that would benefit from therapy, finding catharsis in confirmation bias and solidarity in hating something that has become part of their identity, which makes them feel as if they are hating part of themselves, and begging to have it given back to them.
That's a yikes from me.
Stupid people never lose an argument.

All your saying is your opinion matters more than anyone else. They need the feedback. If they do not get the feedback this game won't last. You are a small % of people of actually like this game currently. You clearly are not an ARPG player. That is totally fine. If they cater the game to the tiny % the game is DOA. It is simple math nothing more. It does not need to be a copy of poe1 but they missed by landing zone by miles.

Not to the extent that it would be an obsession, but I don't see why it would be weird that someone's hobby that they're very passionate about would become a part of their identity.
Regardless of what your day job is, you could absolutely consider it a part of your identity that you play the piano every day for a few hours, or go to the gym regularly, or that you go hiking and invest significant amounts of time and effort into it.
Nobody would say that that's "weird" or that you "need therapy" when it comes to those things. So why would a videogame be any different?

"You are clearly not an ARPG player"
You come to this conclusion because I don't agree with you. That's classic fallacy.
So and so is an ARPG expert, and someone disagrees with their OPINION.
The "expert" than invokes a straw man, with a splash of ad Hominem, and calls into question the the reputation and qualifications of the person who disagrees, rather than settle on a reasoned debate, or since this is a matter of opinion, to just have differing opinion.
Anyway, I guess 10 years of playing various ARPGs doesn't yet qualify me in your world, maybe one day I'll make the grade.
