Breaches? Pointless – Metamorphosis and HoWA: deleted.

Altars? Who cares – Belt: deleted.

Sehemas? Don’t bother – Temporalis, Timelost, Grand Spectrum: deleted.

Arbiter? Why even try – Regalia’s a joke, and Prisms of Belief are 99% vendor trash unless you're playing one of the three working builds (hello to LS Amazon ladder).

Wanna do expeditions? Cool, maybe you’ll get your useless Tragedy or a garbage flask at 30 run.

Delirium? Good luck not dying on T4, and if you do survive 150 runs, enjoy your garbage megalomaniac (because yeah – flasks are dead).

You have described perfectly everything wrong with the game. I loved 0.1 and was addicted to the game for the first time in 10 years. I rarely have a game that pulls me in as much as POE2 did in the last decade. Patch 0.1 was fun, new, and I enjoyed trying different builds and leveling characters. It was still challenging and loot could of been better but I put in 400 hours and had a lot of fun.

Patch 0.2 has been a slog and actually I have quit a few characters already at level 10. The highest I have is lvl 31 and can't seem to want to progress further because it's so boring and tedious with no good drops in currency or gear. And now that you mention all the end game problems as well and all the best, fun and exciting parts about tinkering with the builds using the jewels and gear, there is no point. One of the worst patches I have ever seen in the history of games where they seem to have killed their own game and then are trying to roll back some of the changes they made. I saw some interviews from JR and realize this is the vision and not going to change. In the meantime, I have picked up other games. They dont have me hooked like 0.1 but it also means I can play for 20-30 mins and be done for the day and move on to other things.

Unfortunately, I don't think the devs read the forum. I saw so much feedback here about loot or even before in patch 0.1, fixing portals and death xp penalty and auction house. None of that was addressed. Instead, we got 100 new support gems which nobody uses and new unique gear which nobody can find or trade for due to rare drops.

The number of people playing have already dropped down to 90k-180k during low and peak times. This is after a week and the new patch launched with 240k players. Imagine 3 weeks in, we are going to be below 50k players and I suspect this patch will have even less players playing at any given time than 0.1.

I don't know how people are defending this game as it's worst than the previous patch in almost every single way. The only thing better is Atlas with less towers but I will never know since I dont plan to waste my time getting to end game.

I wish I could give OP an upvote. I know there are so many bad mechanics throughout the game but I never even considered end game mechanics and how they have completely butchered it. So you have nothing to look forward to. I remember in the last patch, I had no idea about controlled metamorphosis and adorned diamonds. I kept tinkering with my monk and that was fun changing the setup and seeing how much stronger I could get. There were so many of these types of jewels you could farm end game, getting those mana flasks, getting gear to run MoM and CI. None of that stuff is appealing now.

I should really thank OP for saving me the time from getting to the end game. I knew currency was bad but I forgot all the rest of the shit they removed from the end game too and that's no longer viable. I spent over $150 MTX on this game and don't plan to spend anymore. Maybe I'll come back in a year or so and loot rates have improved. For now I plan on moving to LE new patch and a few other single player games. None of them keep me hooked but I guess I have more balance and can sleep better. On a plus side, my WFH job has been more productive than ever lol.

Totally agree with this, the lacks on crafting, it's pure gamble. The game has no endgame goal, you just mindless farm T15 without any direction. AND we have ZERO resources and loot to properly progress our character.

Jonathan's vision is to force everyone to using the trading system in order to progress through the game, because they don't know how to properly make a good ARPG like D2.

I've tryied few times. The last one was at level 31, trying to "kill" the Act 2 boss. I'd say “kill,” but really it was more like giving him a gentle massage with 100-damage pokes. It took me 10 minutes of this nonsense.

Sure, I could’ve used a spear and ended it faster, but nah. That would mean playing the game the “right” way, i've chosen to completely ignore that one and only viable option. I got bored out of my mind, gave all 10 exalts to a friend, and uninstalled that piece of absurdity.

And look, I get the game. I know every mechanic, every boss pattern, every move they make. That’s the only reason I managed to kill the boss after 10 minutes of dodging.

I could be playing some busted OP build — Snake Spear Deadeye, Blood Spear, LS Spear — just zooming through content like a caffeinated squirrel. But why? As I said: endgame farming means nothing now. Nothing makes you stronger. The game essentially ends at Tier 18 maps. Beyond that? Just existential and unrewarding farming.

i've tested xbow on amazon and how it works with xbow+blood setup (so pathetic that melady doesn't work with gas grenades). I've droped and switched to glacial build, but was pissed off that it's knokbacking every mobs in acts and i couldn't get out of ice shards because blink/jumps is not avaliable at 30 level. So i ended up with break armor and galvanic shards. Huge downside GGG’s doctrine forbid adding a reload while dodging.

Here is was my expirience: I used to run 0 mana Infernalist build, which, of course, need perfectly corrupted low-priced uniques. I've spent entire day on just the trade site, spamming whispers and praying for one single trade accept. Not playing, just stayin in hideout and waited that someone accept the trade. I’ve corrupted 200-300 uniques myself for that day. After that just opening the trade site gives me actual nausea.

If you have watched any of the dev interviews, he doesn't actually play the full game or campaign and when he does, it's to test areas on his special account. So of course he is not aware of the problems that occur for normal players.

The best way to help POE2 is for most people to log off, not buy any MTX, and watch the player count drop so Jonathan can wake up and take action. If we don't login and support the game in any way, there is a bigger and better chance to have things resolved quickly. Even if you login for 20 mins a day, that counts as a win in their book.

The other thing is I don't understand how they kept releasing patches almost every day last week with some decent changes. Couldnt they do that during 0.1 and add content and fixes as we went along? Wouldn't be in such a big mess now if they had incremental fixes/changes with MVP instead of one big release.

It has already started.

The player statistics show that the player count dipped below 100k 2 days in a row, which only happened in 0.1 towards the end of February when literally no one was playing it. For one week into a league for a game that debut with 500k steam players that is really really bad!
