Cruel Campaign is Easier than Normal Campaign

"

Man.. It has nothing to do with you being a god gamer, for starters. It also has nothing to do with Jamanra's mechanics being extremely difficult. It has to do with some characters not having good damage output in act II for various reasons and the boss taking 15 minutes to take down. If you haven't experienced it then try another character or take peoples word for it. Better yet, go join one of the public parties in Act II and watch for yourself. It is painful as fuck.

Jamanra simply has too much health / resistances / armour for where the average player is at at that point ( i dont know which one it is )

Took me 3 minutes on a fire sorc.

Took me probably the same on a warrior 1h/shield

I dont get the sentiment at all :\.

Didnt film my warrior but heres the sorc and me standing in stuff like an ape:

I dont understand how people get stuck on Jamamanananrara
Really straight forward boss

This was the same problem in 0.1 the people who have a good experience have no idea how people can be having a bad experience.
This game did not come with a manual, old dogs are having to learn new tricks. Buying from vendor, making sure you disenchant gear and not selling for gold. Making sure you craft on you gear, with the right class and combination of spells, executed in perfect sequence.
And people still have a bad time, its a genuine surprise to people. Jonathan included.
He has no idea how people are having a bad time, because hes having a great time so everybody should be, right?

Right, well it feels good to tell everybody else that they suck, so you can feel like there's something profoundly awesome about yourself. In reality, its just you being ignorant to other people's issues.

Interestingly, on that last point though, my second playthrough of this game on 0.2.0 has had easily 3x or 4x more magic and rare drops, to the point that i'm kind of scratching my head... Like, are my Atlas passives affecting the drops or something? Is there some code nobody is aware of that is making cases like mine and Jonathon's occur?
The bosses are fine unless you expect to blast through them before they can get any mechanics off, in which case go play diablo 4.

As far as cruel vs normal goes, the former is a placeholder. I hope I do not need to expand on that.

Last point, your drops vary in between characters because of randomness (duh).

I hope I helped.
Depends on the build. As shockburst round build the game feels utterly awful. You need to manage too much stuff and also try to play the game at the same time. Curses need to be permanent and status effects need to last 10 seconds at least.
Jamanra took me about a minute

Because i found a blue weapon right before him an exalted all phys mods and attack speed *shrugs*

It isn't as complicated as anyones really making it, passive tree is very simple right now it basically comes down to where did you fall on the bell curve for drops.

You can move that slightly if you are efficient with orbs/runes and get lucky with your gambling but fundamentally it is what it is. Boss is pretty much free if your near the top of the curve, it feels like your getting griefed if your at the bottom.
Placeholder or not, it is still the game for this entire patch. IF you want me to rephrase it, how about this

Cruel Campaign is what Normal Campaign Should Feel Like

See the thing that annoys me is that when people have good experiences with this stuff, they just shrug it off like Jonathon does. If you get unlucky, as many people do, you get completely fucked. There is a massive disparity between people who have good luck and people who don't, and I think that gap needs some serious closing.

If you don't get the gear you need, you are sentenced to spend hours replaying levels hoping to get a drop that changes it all and watching your character level surpass the map level knowing that your odds are not even very good. You barely get any currency and even when you do, the odds are still that you will roll modifiers that don't help much.

I actually had pretty good luck during both of my playthroughs, but I have empathy, unlike some people here

I'm playing shockburst on SSF - it blasts everything. You can get longer shocks if you invest into your 2nd weapon set points and shock with stormcaller arrow.

But you cba to build and equip your character properly, you'd rather ask for gimmies, right?

Stop whining.
You can't get unlucky into infinity, that's not how RNG works. Stop expecting to breeze through everything. If you're stuck on a boss, go farm for a bit, upgrade a few of your items and come back.

People are getting stuck really bad in Acts II and III. Jamanra specifically is like a damage sponge. It's a quit point for many. After getting to cruel, the game completely opens up and it's honestly quite weird to expect cruelty and get a back rub instead. I'm not sure what the answer is but its probably something to do with making the first 3 acts easier for people.

That was the case with 0.1 too. Going through cruel after normal was a breeze. On one hand, it's understandable since you unlock more of everything but on the other hand it's still weird that normal is harder than cruel.

there are people in OSRS who killed 30,000 of a monster for a 1/5000 drop and never got it. The chance of getting something on rate is like 60%. It is very possible to get as unlucky as you are saying is impossible and it would only take like 3 fucking seconds to open your eyes and see all the people around here who fit that description

I'm not one of them, as I said (and you ignored)

Also, I am here to help guide this game in the right direction because I love the game. I'm not here to complain and threaten the developers with a bad steam review. What you are doing here, calling people whiners when they point out flaws in the game, is counter productive to early access
