Cruel Campaign is Easier than Normal Campaign
People are getting stuck really bad in Acts II and III. Jamanra specifically is like a damage sponge. It's a quit point for many. After getting to cruel, the game completely opens up and it's honestly quite weird to expect cruelty and get a back rub instead. I'm not sure what the answer is but its probably something to do with making the first 3 acts easier for people.

its not hard at all imo. but "running" around in act 1 at -5% move speed and killing bosses to get 0.5 yellow items is boring and tedious. Thats why i loged off after act 3. Last edited by Shurne#0114 on Apr 13, 2025, 5:58:43 AM

I am often stuck in act2, people say the game gets fun post act 3.
My question is, why cant the first 3 acts be fun? Why cant progression be linear? Why does early game need to be boring?… i dont have the endurance to make it through the first 3 acts. I agree early game, doesn't necessarily need to be “easier” just needs to be more fun, there are so many monsters and you do so little damage. Takes me 10hours to complete the first act and by that point i dont want to invest another 50hours to get to maps. |

I'm coming from D2 (and the mods like PD2), for me the bosses in PoE2 don't seem much spongier than that game, but one thing that seems to be missing for me is the ability to craft gear early. My first instinct was to add a mechanic for getting orbs reliably in the campaign. Mostly because the crafting is very RNG and it's easy to waste a lot of currency and get unlucky. So I feel like we need more reliable access, with time invested of course.
So I made this post. It hasn't been very popular, so maybe I'm entirely missing the mark and the real solution is to just lessen the HP pools of some bosses in normal difficulty. Would like to hear your thoughts if you care though: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3753399 |

" Man.. It has nothing to do with you being a god gamer, for starters. It also has nothing to do with Jamanra's mechanics being extremely difficult. It has to do with some characters not having good damage output in act II for various reasons and the boss taking 15 minutes to take down. If you haven't experienced it then try another character or take peoples word for it. Better yet, go join one of the public parties in Act II and watch for yourself. It is painful as fuck. Jamanra simply has too much health / resistances / armour for where the average player is at at that point ( i dont know which one it is ) Last edited by Glowie_Zigger#5018 on Apr 13, 2025, 6:19:35 AM

" I came from D2 as well and never crafted a single item in that game. The crafting system is total dogshit ? I think the bosses right now need to be dealt with on an individual basis with the most attention paid to the normal campaign. the recent nerfs sapped character power hard for certain classes |

" This was the same problem in 0.1 the people who have a good experience have no idea how people can be having a bad experience. This game did not come with a manual, old dogs are having to learn new tricks. Buying from vendor, making sure you disenchant gear and not selling for gold. Making sure you craft on you gear, with the right class and combination of spells, executed in perfect sequence. And people still have a bad time, its a genuine surprise to people. Jonathan included. He has no idea how people are having a bad time, because hes having a great time so everybody should be, right? |

" haha sorry, when I speak of crafting, I mean runewords, not the actually useless crafting system that exists in vanilla D2. it's very common in a ladder start to farm countess to get some of the level ~20 runewords, since they have run/walk speed, +skills, the weapon runewords are much stronger than what you'll find blue/yellow, etc. but yeah, probably the real issue here is that the bosses are just a bit too tanky for normal, given what we are likely to find as gear on the normal progression.
