Why so much hatred?

I just want to start this with I have played this game since poe was early on in its history, I remember when the vaal expansion first came out, exploring the new vaal side areas was interesting and exciting, every new league that was added kept bringing with it a new layer of complexity and intrigue that challenged the games normal design itself while somehow managing to stay in tune with its own lore and style, never losing its feeling as a dark fantasy ARPG, unlike so many other games (note: diablo 3 and its version of the cow level).

When legion first came out I remember loving it immediately, running back and forth farming zones while leveling just to get a chance to get that tall black obelisk to spawn so you could farm more of the league mechanic, it was so interesting, something new I had never encountered before.

As time went on, more and more leagues came out, each one with its own advantages and disadvantages, some I liked more than others, some I agreed needed to be implemented into the game, some I wished had been, like crucible. I always wished there was more lore involved in the making of these leagues, and more time to fully explore the mechanics, 3 months always felt a little short, but then again, everyone was always about going zoom zoom and blasting through everything and just focusing on currency generation instead of slowing down and enjoying the content.

The last couple of leagues have felt subpar, trading has become something of a nightmare, acquiring items has just been insanely annoying, people offer items up then change the price last minute, or never respond, or fix the prices on the trade site so you have to spam endlessly to find that one person who will actually sell for a decent price.. we desperately need a different method of trading.

This last league I didn't bother to play, I have heard good things about it, but honestly after the last one and with poe2 having come out, I just couldn't motivate myself to level what is probably my 400th character through the campaign yet again. I needed something new, something slower, something hard, challenging, something that made me think, and now we have poe2.

Contrary to reddit, and the internet in general at this point I think, I love how poe2 has turned out, it feels like a sequel lorewise to poe, however, it is much slower, and much much more challenging, you have to actually think when you play the game, you cant just dps the boss down in 5 seconds, the game isnt designed for that, and I prefer it that way.

This league with the huntress, I only have that character so far, level 65 now, took me 5 days to get through the campaign, I had to get help for some of the bosses, yeah the damage could get tuned a bit on single target, but overall the class is an absolute blast to play, so much mobility, disengage, roll, parry, I thought for sure spears were going to be a 2h weapon, I was so excited when it was a 1h and a shield build, its like playing a demon hunter from wow but with a shield, its hilariously fun and absolutely love it, by far my favorite class released in the entirety of poe. 10/10

I get that people want to go fast, but I think poe should retain its development for that, I loved poe's crafting, I want better crafting in poe2, I really want a crafting bench in poe2, I love crafting, REAL CRAFTING DEVS - NOT THIS LETS PUT AN ORB AND HAVE MYSTERIOUS OUTCOMES... also being able to see what tier affixes I have on gear in game would be immensely helpful if you could please implement that soon.

All I'm saying is if you want speed, poe1, poe needs to be poe and should still be regularly developed, 9 months for a league is a bit extreme, even with poe2 out.

poe2 is great just the way it is, keep doing what you guys are doing with it, I and I know of many others who absolutely love the game the way it is, we are just less vocal.

It's quite possessive how they behave, and it's very toxic. They have no respect for developers hard work at all, they just want to consume, want it easier and faster and they don't care about their destructive influence - to make everything mediocre again. This is sad state of human civilisation.
imagine u had a nephew. he doin great in school, really good in sports, great future ahead.

half a year later you hear about him

hes now addicted to crack and meth.

its not hate. its disappointment.

something with a great possible future just keeps ruining it by bad decisions

but specifically what bad decisions? Like I said, personally I like the changes, I like the slower more grungy feel to the game, I don't think they were bad decisions from the start, in fact nerfing the monsters and bosses I think was a bad decision, I think they should increase the difficulty even more so people are forced to work together to think about how to take down bosses, uber pinnacle bosses should be a group effort to take down, not soloable unless you are really really good at mechanics and can keep it up for a long duration. I have always disagreed with enrage timers on bosses, I think if you can keep the mechanics going you should be able to fight them endlessly should you be able to maintain enough damage and everything as well. This is how a good game is made, give it time.

Eh, I have been consistently visiting this sub since Dec 6 launch, it was actually significantly worse than now.
With bad development, comes great responsibility.

This analogy seems more applicable to how PoE1 changed lol.

It started off as a slower-but-still-fast game that slowly evolved into a completely insane clusterfuck of particle effects and loot explosions, which to me is closer to being crack/meth than PoE2's more methodical and tactical gameplay.

That evolution was immensely disappointing. Now we're finally getting a combat-focused ARPG, with PoE1 still being there for those who prefer the zoom.

lol trueee
idk how poe1 was, didnt really play it.

but i put 600h into 0.1 and even tho i didnt love it, i dearly miss it.
i couldnt wait for the reset and things getting buffed and reasonably nerfed.

but they overdid nerfing, underdid buffing and idk ignored like any cool new additions. strong boxes still suck, maps are still too big even after nerfs just now, just spent 2h in apex of filth and other a3 maps, it is atrocious.

im just baffled by so many weird decisions.
"we want you to do combos that require 3s+ setup time"
mobs kill you in 1s.

"in twisted domain u kinda wanna just progress and later pick up loot"

breaches, 5x denser with loot/mobs: heres all RIGHTNOW GO PICK IT UP U MIGHT DIE LOL BUT ALSO TIMER FOR BREACH LOL

a witch gets dots.
bloodmage uses own life for spells (no upside tho lol)
bloodmage gets xtra crit
dots dont crit
dots dont leech life. wtf?

its like the game was made be 200 individuals not talking to each other, not knowing what someone else is making, not playing the game, not testing.

any programmers here? any??

okay you maed this game, imagine ok?

now u test it. lets say u wanna upgrade all ur low lvl waystones, lvl 10-14 reforge.
thats annoying. u wanna change that, dont you? so they never had that happen to them.
same with upgrading 15s from normal to 6mods. it .is. such. a chore.
clicking SO MANY TIMES.

wouldnt u change it?`
be honest. please.

when i was 21 i downloaded a fork of bitcoin and wanted to make it great.
nobody cared. thats poe2

Its nice you like it. Thats great. 90% of us don't and you can see that from all the negative feedback everywhere you look. You can't make a game for the few or you will go broke.
