Trade website is unusable - bots and price fixers - GGG needs to act!

Title says it all. PLEASE for the love of god GGG, implement a function to either directly BUY items or a report function for price fixers.

i.e. when they have the item up for sale and don't sell it hwne they got whispered a certain amount of times, they get a trade ban with a stacking time, like 2h 8h 16h 24h 7d etc.

The trade is ABSOLUTELY useless right now. 90% of the characters have names like "a938439438943ef" and flood the market with price fixing, obviously bot/smurf characters created just for that.

You are lucky if you can buy ONE item off of 100 people whispered.

You finally need to listen to your players and implement something to punish or eradicate this kind of behavior!

Imagine making a game you are required to trade to get decent gear on and then not building a trade system.

Personally I believe player to player trade function needs to be disabled completely and a dedicated automated trade system put in similar to console trade on poe1 but without the accept/reject function.

There is too much scamming rmt and price fixing going on to defend the current trade system it's just that broken and I refuse to use it.

Totally agree

We need an in-game trade system similar to the Grand Exchange from Old School Runescape. Having items up for sale 24-7 whether people are offline or not would be a great addition so that everyone can benefit and not just the ppl playing all day every day without a job. A simple fix for preventing lots of botting would be to require a character to be a certain level (ie: lvl 75) to use item trading. I think GGG is making enough money nowadays to scrap the premium tab system and implement something way more convenient and less time consuming
Thank you for making a post about something already requested 10,000 times for something that the devs have already admitted that they will never do.

But seriously, GGG has an archaic and flawed belief that trade should not even exist since it will make the game too easy. For many years, we had to use a third-party website to list and sell items. They finally capitulated and ultimately were strong-armed into building a trade site onto their own GGG website. In POE 2, they caved again by finally providing people will a currency exchange vendor which helped out a lot.

They simply don't understand that it's possible to create a far more efficient trade system without dumbing down or ruining the game. People WILL ALWAYS find ways to trade regardless. They simply want to make it inconvenient for you in a roundabout way because they know that many people would quit if trade was prevented altogether.

Yeah I know what their take on that is, and I know they want to create "friction" (direct quote, whatever the heck that means), but I believe firmly that we have to keep convincing them.

They way it is now is absolute garbage and GGG need to be made aware that players are NOT okay with it and that we won't stay quiet about it, and that we don't care wether it's annoying them or not.

It's hurting the game, and it's especially bad for NEW PLAYERS, which is something they should take notice of..

There is a lot of things that have beein complaints since earlier poe1 days that HAVE been adressed in poe2
Currency exchange, cheap respeccing, monster speed..are just 3 major examples.
Of course, if the players just shut up and let it happen, yes, they won't change it.

I wish they did something but they just put head in sand and never do. We went trough years of that in poe 1

At least there we had loot and crafting.

No offense but someone who doesn't understand what "friction" means in a game design context should not be trying to convince GGG that their game design philosophy is superior to theirs.

Friction means a way to make something more difficult so that it cannot be easily abused. It's extremely important. If it weren't for the intended difficulty of trading, I guarantee you almost every one of your trades is going to involve a bot in one way or another. This is not only going to make trading even more tedious because there will be price fixing like you've never seen before in your life, but will eliminate the need to interact with real players entirely with the exception of challenges and other party-related services. This is not good for the community long term.

I strongly believe you need interactions with real people to be allowed to trade (and some sort of layer of friction). The current system is a great example of that. You will not fully appreciate the power you can obtain through trading if it were so easy that you could just click an NPC and get any item in the game in two seconds.

I am not denying that the system could use some work and perhaps be a little more lenient, but I think a lot of people are trying to design their game without even basic knowledge of game design. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke then don't fix it. If trading were "broken" you would know about it because it would feel a lot more awful than it does now, believe me.
