How about "cut-scenes" :-)?

I just imagined in my head something like this

Imagine ure templar running into the brutus chamber, brutus is sitting in a corner "sleeping"
and when he notices u, he rages etc and shouts some bad ass shit to u.(hooks and misses ure templar by a hair? xP)

This would have some bad-ass entertainment value imo, and it would give the art guys at GGG some more credits for there amazing work.

Also after the video has ended u could have a "proceed" window like the bandit's have, giving u an estimated % of succes xDDD (based on ure resist/dps/hp/es etc), imagine having 30% succes rate and stil going to face that boss. It would be a different fight because of the adrenaline :).

I miss some scenes in PoE :'(
Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes
i vote no to cinematics/cut-scenes
I believe GGG have stated they want to present the story in a non-obtrusive way. Any cinematics they added would likely be skippable.

cinematics age very fast. they are the one way to ensure your game looks dated.

TBH i like how GGG have already presented encounters/interludes in the game, with Piety in the Wardens Chamber and also in the Chamber of Sins. Telling the story in-line within the game experience and format works, at least in my opinion.
If you want cartoons, you are welcome to enjoy them at diablo 3. But to waste GGG`s time for some meaningless tresh, wich will pop up every time player proceeds to the next boss or act? U mad? There are no place for these in ARPG.
(I really enjoyed both POE and D3 stories, but when I have to skip useless scences for 100500th time... its pretty annoying).
I vote for an anime based off PoE that they can sell per episode in the shop. Each episode could be a few zones worth of hyper-violent action, with whole episodes devoted to boss fights. This could then be split up into per-class episodes (all Templar all day, for instance) as well as party-themed episodes (Ranger on Witch on Nessa action, perhaps?). This can be even further split into build-based episodes for ultimate variety. Then they can tell the story in a non-obtrusive, maximized-profit fashion.

Cinematics would likely require a dedicated team many times larger than what they have now.
Unless they get someone like Square to do it, at huge expense, it's likely to just be a let down that you end up skipping anyway.

believe me when I say that "huge expense" will still apply.
Not only are cutscenes altogether rather unnecessary, but they are also very expensive. Like, really expensive.
