Disengage is a very good example of whats wrong with PoE2 design atm.

Quick intermission:
" Can you ever reply to anything without blanket insults to any other group of players not sharing your opinion? Back to the original thread: I like the concept of disengage, but I think the actual moment-to-moment gameplay feels a bit lacking. That might change with their planned rebalance to monster speed distribution though. So far, I've found a smoother way to play for myself with Explosive Spear, because I love skills that explode and wanted to make that one work, and this play style just so happens to not need parrying or disengaging at all. Boomstick for the win! |

" Where is any blatant insult? An Insult must be to a person. I am saying a CONCEPT is stupid. That does nto mean I am calling people stupid. Simple example, even people that smoke know it is a stupid activity (most do) that does nto mean they are calling themselves stupid. If you do not understand what an insult is, so not criticize people for that. |

" Stop moving the goalposts. "Indoctrinated" and "mentally damaged" are antagonizing, insulting words clearly addressing people holding that opinion. If not, there would be no reason to use such inherently negative terms. Insults can very well be made against groups of people, and if YOU don't understand that, you might need to revisit fundamental principles of communication and human interaction. " It's not fine at all. We shouldn't have skills that are only useful in the early game. |
|
" Okay, let’s expand on that. Do you think basic attacks should be end game viable skills as well? Last edited by RusinaRange#6285 on Apr 10, 2025, 5:07:01 PM

I really like this playstyle - when it works.
I am finding that for some bosses (other enemies also but bosses in particular) there is a problem that many of their attacks cannot be parried, and are not that distinguishable from their parryable ones in the time it takes to react. I just fought the big elephant in the Bone Pits, he has I think 4-5 attacks 2 of which can be parried. One of those is the charge, which is ok if he starts some distance away. But the other one is hard to distinguish from his other 2-3 which are slams/AoE and cannot be parried. The trick seemed to be to assume everything cannot be parried and fight without it, unless he just used his other 2 attacks in which case it's a good bet his next couple of attacks will be parryable. This may boil down to the boss's cooldowns meaning they can end up spamming attacks which can't be parried. I noticed GGG said they are adjusting these so enemies use parryable attacks a bit more often. It takes some getting used to and for some enemies trial and error to work out what can and can't be parried, most of the time you only know for sure by trying it which can be painful. |
