Parry and blocking has a fundamental design flaw that needs to be changed.

Warbringer does give you that, bit then you're stuck with a mediocre ascendancy class

How blocking a ground explosion makes sense? Block works on anything that moves horizontally.. makes full sense.

Partial reduction of explosive force due to shielding doesn't make sense for you?

no if it is coming from under and behind you!

also I am talking about active block not the passive. Active block already blocks anything directional.

Lightning richocheting from nonüconducting or absorbing materials... fine...

Creatures living in such swarms it would be impossible to maintain an ecosystem... fine...

characters shooting a single arrow that splits into a carpetbomb... fine...

beings able to summon sea of flames, lava, poison, at once... fine...

Hiding behind a wall to avoid a nuclear attack... yep... fine

Warrior using a shield to mitigate incoming damage.
STOP RIGHT THERE! ENOUGH IS EEEEEEEENNNNOUGH with your unrealistic BS!

Meanwhile active block only works from frontal attacks, passive block is from any direction... XD

Warbringer Ascendacy just gives you that TADAAM : Block from all hits but lowered block chance, that you can mitigate by getting some passives :D

I feel you may have missed the point. Passive block has a ton of different augmentations, but is just a secondary defensive stat. Block skills are not engaging or balanced due to the all or nothing nature of block mitigation for different enemy attacks.

Yep, and it still doesn't let block skills interact with AoE attacks...

Haha, yeah. Block in PoE2 feels like a weird amalgamation of poe1 passive stats and a failed copy of normal RPG blocking. It just needs more mechanical tuning to feel like a finished game design.

Active block feels quite clunky.
We have Raise shield gem slots now, but only works if you are using Raise Shield skill!

Which I don't think anyone uses.
As soon you get Resonate shield you swap that skill.
That will damage aoe, and shred armour of enemies that increases your damage even more!
I don't even think Magma builds use it, when you can get the magma blast if using Resonate Shield.

But still, that benefit is nothing compared to any damage output. You want your enemies dead asap. If you have to block you're already in great danger. You give up using damaging skill while you're defensive. (which isn't bad, I want more defensive skills in the game, and I talk about mitigation, not giving us more overheal)

And speaking of warbringer turtle charm:
that only works if you are using passive block.

Active block btw says "block from front" a cone indicator would be amazing. When the enemies are too close are we actually blocking them? (they stand outside the line but in our face)
Or does it block whoever is inside 1m?

I am asking for a buff indicator too.
I use the skill node that increases block chance if I successfully blocked actively. Its double beneficial because I went for both [Offensive Stance] and [Lay Siege] so I get +12% dps for 4 second, but I wont keep my char sheet open to keep track of the buff.

The system think we have a soulslike 1v1 fight where it could be a risk reward.
But in this arpg swarm system a mob is surrounding me. Not sure who I actually blocked.
Did I even blocked them or my thorn already stunned them? (yes, their self inflicted damage CAN stun them)

Medicore? My Warbringer is completely fine killing t4 arbiter... and the gear is not worth more than 40-50 divine orbs, maybe less. Of course I die sometimes on juiced maps from 1 shot, but it's all the same for all of us :P
