I would purchase a standalone version of Path of Exile 1

That's right, Daddy, there is no need to forcefully control and monitor the gaming habits of 30+ years old men. The current poe makes one constantly feel like wittle Frodo about to be struggle-snuggled by a squad of specially invited Uruk-Hai under the inappropriately interested gaze of Sauron.

One hopes nobody that’s actually in their 30s would elect to express themselves in such a manner…
Are the audiences of other single player rpgs teeny and tiny? Dark souls, elder scrolls, baldurss gate, dragon age are whole franchises. Who are you to decide what ggg will spend their time on? I only mentioned what I would pay for.

I have not mentioned any mtx, and frankly, the very concept of mtx disgusts me. It is cancer that destroys any game that relies on it for monetization, it takes over dev time and resources and reduces the game to a vehicle for mtx sales.

No difficulty? Bis gear? Big Brother, it is none of your damn business how and how long a person plays the game they paid for. Nor it is any of GGG's business.

It is gathering such data, that should be private, and making profit projection models based off it that has lead to the state of the gaming industry.

Regarding the easily offended poster after you, I described how I felt. In great and naughty detail, so even a non gaming beancounter could get the point. It is exactly offensive how one shotty, laggy and bereft of necessary information this game is. Death log? Only in my dreams.

By all means, do enjoy the game in its current stay, but I wonder why are you so aggressive? Are you afraid that there wont be as many potential ingame customers to exploit? Because, if indeed there was no interest in such features, you would not be affected at all. But then, if one bother to read through the forums here, and on d4, one would find many, many threads similar to mine.

Enough, as Godfrey puts is, I have given you courtesy enough and maybe even fed the trolls some peanuts unintentionally. I won't be responding anymore to avoid crowding the topic any further.

....those other games are NOT the same type of game as PoE. And who decides what GG will spend their time on? GGG. And the game itself. And the entire structure, system, and financial plan behind the product.

It's a live-service, temporary league-based game. That is what it IS. It isn't a matter of what you would pay for......frankly that is such an elitist, asinine thing to say. And just simply screams of a lack of understanding of how the product works. The entire monetization of the game and the company as a WHOLE is based around mtx, leagues, and constant updates. Why in the world would they suddenly, 10+ years later, go entirely against their entire business model, which has been WILDLY successful for them?

you can offer to pay for crap-flavored cereal, but General Mills ain't gonna make it.

Why do cellphone companies and chip manufacturers continuously release new products every year, or half-year, or two years? Do they really NEED to? Absolutely not. The average person isn't getting a new phone every single time a new model comes out. But overall, the BUSINESS thrives on constant new products. If Samsung suddenly decided to only release 1 phone every 10 years (the "single player standalone phone"), they would lose an obscene amount of money.

Regardless of whether YOU say you would pay for a 10-year phone or "Permanent" phone. You don't dictate the business model, you merely fit into it and happily accept whatever they offer. Like every other product that exists in the world.

Also....your extreme lack of understanding of modern gaming technology is astoundingly shining through in your post. There are many REASONS why games are more and more turning to the "always on" model, with less user-based data storage of older generation games. The internet has changed considerably over the years. It's not about greed. And its laughable you say that......about a FREE GAME. Circle back to the asinine comment I mentioned earlier.
Starting anew....with PoE 2

I'd happily pay 100 bucks for PoE 1 offline.
