Seasonal reset suck and drive players like me away
It takes me roughly 10 hours to get to maps. If you play an hour a day thats basically 10 days of playtime to get back to maps. So yeah

I must be dumb not understanding what OP is complaining about.
Is he just flat out against new leagues? GGG is letting people continue the current EA league with all new content available, right? I must be missing something. What could GGG possibly do to make him happy? |

This is part of learning the game and the economy, if you play softcore and care, they very much so go hand-in-hand. It just "TAKES TIME" stop expecting everything to fall into your lap, that's half the problem these days, everyone wants instant gradifaction instead of actually working for it.

" I highly recommend trying out other magic users/skills! It doesn't take long to get used to using different kinds of skills and the ascendancies make gameplay incredibly varied and interesting. On the new league launch, you could go Lich and play around with dark magic. There's also lots of build guides for Blood Mage, though it'll be an exciting first week or two figuring out what still works and what's incredibly powerful now after the changes. A common recommendation to newer players is to try a new primary skill each league, even if you just play on Standard. It helps you learn the mechanics more and makes returning to a previous skill a very exciting experience. Last edited by UnashmdCreatvty#5633 on Apr 1, 2025, 6:40:43 PM

Lol welcome to ARPG's.
And you didn't watch the 0.2.0 patch reveal, did you? |

" To be entirely fair, there are ways to do that...it's just that what it entails would make it a different game entirely. If you want to keep people playing year-round rather than a short bursts with each update, the gameplay would have to revolve around that: keeping players coming back, instead of letting them "finish the game". Look at gacha games and MMOs for this type of design: things that reset daily, things that reset weekly, things that reset monthly, other limits on daily progress like stamina systems, items that bind on equip, items that bind on acquisition... Look at Granblue Fantasy for example. One of the first bosses in the game, Tiamat, was something you'd kill at least 3 times a day (you're limited to summoning the boss 3 times a day with better rewards for starting the fight, but could also join other people's fights) at least a few months, maybe a year or two? Haven't touched the game in a while and that fight's item rewards might be skippable for newer powercreep weapons, but still... Imagine going back to kill each act boss 3 times a day. |

That's the fun part though. Everyone starting from the ground up with empty stashes and new characters to play the game with newly added content. If it took you 5 months to reach citadels I'm sorry but this game might not be for you. People reach that point in 1 week more or less.

I used to love seasonal resets but now I prefer a 5-6 month time frame. It takes me a while to get through the campaign as I mostly solo the game. At about 3 months I'm usually griding maps and progressing my build to around level 85 - 90 and starting new characters as I find items and trade for what I need,,
In game since Minotaur League..

Anyone complaining about economy resets in a game like this, while in the "early access" period of game development needs to touch grass.
If this had been poe1, there were sweeping game updates that allowed you to reset your passive tree for free very often. Many of these changes could easily brick a build. If anything, you should be looking forward to the standard that will be where players can min-max their legacy characters. Meanwhile, you will be missing out on the new content from the league updates that should prove to be where most of the excitement will be. |

I think that a "backwards view point" is trying to make players never leave your game, especially through FOMO and things like that, resets every few months breads creativity and make problems/exploits not have a permanent effect in the game and i think that is good
Campaign will become a chore only if they don't make changes to it, which i hope they will in the future, things like layouts, maps size, enemy density and power acquisition feels pretty bad compared to poe 1 rn |
