Seasonal reset suck and drive players like me away

am i the only one? one of the directors said they are happy with people stopping playing as long as they come back 4 times a year when a new season/league starts. imo this is a very backwards view point. i've spent almost 200 hours playing since launch, built up a very nice character and just getting to do some of the real end game bosses and activities. I've only just recently found a citadel other than the iron one. But come Thursday everything i've done is basically wiped out. sure it lives on in the standard league server, but as i'm to understand it, the updates will not be live on that server, which includes the new end game stuff i want to play.
As an adult with adult responsibilities, i can't afford to play all day everyday to get back up to the end game. Getting back to the end game will take easily a month or more. Not to mention I don't want to start a new character and play through the campaign again, especially without new acts. love the game, but this will drive me away. There are plenty of other games that recently came out that don't wipe all your progress every 4 months. GGG please consider a different option. 0.2 is unique in that all changes including new content will be available on standard. after that they will go back to standard being 1 patch behind the league.
Your character will still not feel the same no matter what because all balance changes and passive tree changes always go through to standard. Its just better to start over, also you might have 3-5% of the games population stay on standard so if you want to trade at all youll have to play the new league. |

It's ok to play on standard, you'll get all the new contents but it's a league behind.
As for breaking your character, you'll probably get a free respec anyway so that's not really a concern. Tech guy

Welcome to any Live Service model game in existence today.
Things you like today, nerfed tomorrow. Things you enjoy, changed. Things you hold sacred, are not by others. Things you like, may be gone later Items you make a build around, no good anymore. Any thing players decide to use across board....gone tomorrow. Class you love now, could suck tomorrow. Any Live Service game you share a world with other players has this same result. Its only the seasonal mechanics that are not added to standard (this update being a unique exception, as it WILL go to standard this time around also)
New leagues are a staple of this game, and are what bring most players back to play. I hated it too when i first started, and didnt know how it all worked, but now its become something I really enjoy about the game. |

I’m fairly sure most of my remaining standard characters are bricked due to gem and mechanic changes. Easier to start fresh in a fresh economy. I’m terrible and it takes me forever to do anything, but I still enjoy the rush of a new league start.

Yes the resets /seasons/leagues whatnot just make the game fresh again. Especially the economy....good weapons in the 1 or 2 div vs 1000 Mirror prices.

" yea i get that. but problem is by the time i get back to the end game and have no ex or div or anything, the economy will be back to where its at now. theres gotta be ways to implement changes and updates without having to start fresh all the time. major changes to skills or passive tree, give a free respec. i dunno, i know this is what PoE 1 was like but at this point i don't see myself investing the time i did originally. in fact, hearing that EA chars won't even make it to the standard server when it officially launches, i may just wait until then to play it again. by then i'll def be ok with starting over, altho i'm partial to my type of char, the sorc, in general so good chance i'd just be using the same char. i prefer magic type char over physical |

" thats what we are saying. it does implement changes to gems and supports and everything on the standard server and you get a free respec. you can continue your character through all of EA if you chose to. |
