POE2 IS WAY TO DIFFICULT
Respectfully im sick of poe2. I understand that it's meant to be harder than poe1 and different but being body blocked by enemies, being 1 shot by normal mobs, being animation locked into abilities and not able to dodge out of mechanics, not receiving any rewarding gear that makes me think about my build and choices during gameplay etc. I by no means claim to be a great poe player but I have yet to get past lvl 32 on any character because it is that dreadful trying to progress. There are bosses in game that I couldn't even beat because they continued to one shot me even while I was over leveled then them so I had to get a buddy to carry me through it. I like the bosses, I like the story, I love poe1 and wanted harder content but poe 2 isn't it for me I would rather play any of the diablo games than poe 2. There is no reason for the difficulty to be this extreme so early on. The only time I have any enjoyment is playing my witch and all I do is hold block with a shield and let my minions kills the enemies because I truly can't survive. I'm not getting better gear and all I have access to is the npc shops because the AH is locked behind story progression THAT I CANT GET PASSED! I have friends that could only progress by finding random groups of four people and even then it took hundreds of hours to get a build to a point where he could solo story content that fit with his level. I love GGG I think they are great and very transparent with information and truly care about the community and the game but I'm not having fun and new friends that I get to play poe2 quite after a few hours because of early game difficulty as well. We can't even experience the story or experience your end game contenybecause the difficulty through acts 1 - 3 are so punishing that wether it's us playing solo or together qe are being constantly killed and even one shot. Oh another thing why does reviving a teammate take so long I have fought multiple bosses with a friend of mine where he died and everything that hits me constantly interrupts the revive and it takes so long that in every single boss we have fought I have to try and solo group content or just die and reset. The game isn't fun at all it's to hard and it's not rewarding for the time and effort qe put into trying to play a game. I REALLY HOPE GGG READS THIS because I do like the game, truly, but it's not new player friendly and it's way to difficult. I left poe 1 because I was one shotting everything the whole game and it became boring to me but this game difficulty is yo far in the opposite direction and as a new player id like to be able to enjoy this game.i just saw the new update with the huntress but I'm not sure I even want to try to play her because it will just become another character I can't progress on. Thank you so much to anyone that reads this I know it was a lot but these are all my personal thoughts and feelings on the game.

You're saying you'd rather play diablo... well nobody is stopping you.
The game isn't hard enough for a lot of players and manageable for the vast majority, so answer me this - why should it cater to players like you, when as you yourself pointed out - you can just move on to something more accessible? |

" If you rather play Diablo, why are you here? Go play Diablo. POE is clearly a filter for you. D2R is still a good game, go have fun. I got the sauce. POE2 enjoyer. Last edited by Holigawd#2935 on Mar 29, 2025, 4:42:26 AM

Your both missing the point. I'm not saying id rather play diablo 4 because I like the game i am saying that as a point of reference to articulate how miserable it is playing poe2. Look at it from my point of view as a new player if your trying to expand your audience and get new players then why make such a massive barrier to entry with how difficult it is to play? Like you both even said "if it's to hard then don't play it" like that's not an answer. Hey if your sports team doesn't win don't watch the sport go watch a different sport. That's a terrible argument. I love these styles of games but the whole reason why I left poe 1 and came to poe 2 is because it was going to be more challenging but making every boss this difficult where your playing dark souls instead of poe is ridiculous. I don't want to dodge dodge dodge dodge hit dodge doge hit doge dodge....shit i got 1 shot time to restart. I have no issues with being more strategic but better gear hardly drops for me to use and early on you don't have a lot of gold to just be buying stuff constantly from the npcs. Every boss feels horrible for melee combat. As a new player I don't want to have to look up boss fight guides and builds at level 5 or level 10 just to be able to have a chance against a boss that I know will still take me 3 - 5 minutes to fight and that's if I'm being perfect and not being hit by anything. Your absolutely right catering your entire game to one group of people isn't the right way to go about it but why not make the story easier so new players and players in general get to experience your game and just have the end game combat really challenging? Like at least at that point i can experience the story and get my character to a decent level where I actually feel powerful fighting bosses and enemies and make the barrier to entry of the game the late game content like if I get through the campaign and don't put a build together I shouldn't be able to do the harder content right but the story shouldn't be so difficult where I have to start theory crafting in Act 1 that's crazy. If your bosses camt be killed by all classes using any/all abilities that you would have up until that point it's yo hard I shouldn't be funneled into ranged combat all the time as a melee character only using ranged attacks to fight a boss. Btw you basically summed up my post by saying "game to hard them leave" if that's the communities response and GGG's response to concerns and feedback from a new player that legitimately cant do the content then that's just an awful president to set. I have the same issue at level 10 as I do at lvl 31 and the game just feels awful to play because of it. It's great you don't feel the same way im happy for you but this isn't a new topic it has been around since the game lost and if I am having issues progressing through the game as someone who has played poe1 and has played other dungeon crawler games then what do you think a brand new player to the genre feels like?.

I’m not an elite player, I started a new character yesterday and had to realize that the bosses are extremely simplified compared to the EA launch. For the 3 bosses at the cemetery, it took me 3-4 days back then, but yesterday I only needed 30 minutes and that without dying.
GGG has really simplified the game a lot. |

I understand that but just last night I jumped on my level 28 monk to play with a buddy new to the game and turned off level downscale for one particular boss because we were having a hard time and my level 28 month with unique gear and items at my level struggled and almost lost to the last cemetery boss while I witnessed my friend get one shot multiple times. He's played a lot of dungeon crawler games to and even he expressed his frustration with how difficult it is because I was watching him play solo and gear wasn't dropping for him at all like he showed me that he had 7 gear slots empty due to no gear drops and doesn't have enough gold to buy anything from the npcs

You can't be serious to hope that people will read that flashbang of a text?

If they choose not to read it it's up to them. The game mechanics suck. I'm playing my warrior and legitimately i cant even kill normal enemies without hitting pots im lvl 31 with lvl 28 gear and by the time my animation goes off for my abilities im half hp. I also have to use it 4 times for a single enemy like I am really trying here but this is the worst feeling game I've ever played. I only say that in comparison to other dungeon crawlers I feel powerful in poe1, I feel powerful in diablo 3 and 4, I felt powerful in the torchlight games. I just don't understand how being lvl 31 in a lvl 32 area with all my gear being lvl 28 is this hard I can't progress at all. Guess what if I'm feeling like this as a player with experience playing these types of games how do you think other people who pick this game up feel. I want to point out I am not speaking on ranged combat I am specifically speaking on melee combat. If I wanted to play dark souls or elden ring i would. dodging and avoiding even being hit once like this for every single fight genuinely feels awful. I have already gone over how I feel in it's entirety in my first post and the response I got was "ho play something else". Everything is over tuned and I'm tired of the community trying to pinpoint the issues to only end game.
